Fonds contains research material and manuscripts created by historian Ian McKay when he resided in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Materials include a student essay on strikes in the Maritimes (1901-1914), a manuscript of McKay's undergraduate honours thesis, "The Working Class of Metropolitan Halifax," and 55 audio cassettes and accompanying notes from interviews with workers in the Springhill and Joggins coal mines.

File contains two scrapbooks, or memory books, created to reflect the activities of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association from 1952 to 1984. The auxiliary dismantled in the mid 1980s; former member Joan MacAulay created these scrap books in May of 2014 to acknowledge the work and friendship auxiliary members had.

Series contains copies of Gaezette, a publication which was originally published as the newsletter for the Gay Alliance for Equality. It was published by a non-profit collective between 1984-1995, when it changed its name to Wayves. It existed to inform lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people across Atlantic Canada of activities in their communities, and to promote those activities and support their aims and objectives.
Fonds contains Jean Mason Pell's broadcast scripts for The Gillans, a dramatic radio serial about a farming family produced for the Maritime version of CBC's Farm Family, which aired from 1941-1971. It was written by Norman Creighton and Kay Hill until 1949, when Jean Pell took over as the scriptwriter until the serial's final season in 1971. Scripts for the program, which aired every weekday, are arranged in chronological order; the occurrence of "emergency scripts," which were substituted when one or more characters were unable to perform, resulted in some episode numbers being skipped or numbered out of order.

Charles Douglas was Deputy Minister of the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture and Marketing. Collection contains records related to the family lineage of the Ramsey/Ramsay/Maule family, and the Brechin Castle in Angus, Scotland. These lines lead to the George Ramsay, 9th Earl of Dalhousie. The family tree shows the Ramsay/Maule lineage. The seat of the Earl of Dalhousie moved to Brechin castle from Dalhousie castle when Ramsay married Maule. The collection also includes biographies and information on the estates, both reprinted from the internet.

Included is a stethoscope that was used for cattle, a Nova Scotia Agricultural College mug, and a blue knit NSAC pullover sweater. The published books and booklets include topics such as livestock husbandry (swine, cattle, poultry), feeding, judging and general agriculture. Most of the publications are Canadian and US government documents, a few textbooks were also included.
