Fonds contains records created by James Doull in the course of his thinking, writing and teaching about the culture of ancient Rome, ancient, medieval and modern philosophy, and twentieth-century politics. The majority of the records are notes and manuscripts, handwritten in blank examination answer books. There is also a lesser number of both typed and printed manuscripts.
Series contains incomplete runs of Dalhousie University Newsletter (1965-1971), University News (1971-1983), Dal News (1983-1989), Dalhousie News (1989-2008) and Dalnews (2008-2010), all of which were former paper iterations of the website Dal News, a service of Communications, Marketing and Creative Services. File comprises four letters sent from Fred Thompson to John Bell between July and October, 1976. The letters provide a recounting of Thompson's time in Halifax as a labourer and labour activist and reveal an ongoing discussion between Bell and Thompson regarding labour issues and labour history.

Letter from Francis V. Hugo to Mrs Saunders, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Hugo's younger sister, Adèle, boarded with the Saunders under an assumed name after she followed Lt. Albert Andrew Pinson from London to Halifax, where he was stationed between 1863-1866.
