Item is a postcard sent from Lena O. [sic] in Westmount, Québec to Clare Gass in Montréal, Québec. The image on the front of the postcard is of Back Harbor, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
Fonds comprises two letters written to William Croft. The first refers to work in the gold mines, while the second is a request for Croft's permission to allow his sixteen-year-old son to go overseas with the Canadian Forces. There is also a note from James Heyson to John Croft containing a medicinal recipe.
Collection contains postcards written and collected by the Gass family of Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia. The postcards are primarily of Nova Scotia and some, but not all, have handwritten notes. There are also postcards of Montreal, New York, Washington and Victoria. The majority are written to or from Clare Gass.

Item is a manuscript of diary entries, genealogical notes, lists of idioms, and anecdotes written by Frank Parker Day in preparation for writing his novel Rockbound, which was based on families on East Ironbound Island.
File consists of a minute book of meetings from 1918 to 1927. The minutes record hymns sung, monies received and spent, activities undertaken, and changes in membership. The file also includes two loose reports and correspondence regarding bond purchases.

Fonds includes a ledger of merchant and vessel accounts (1911-1930), later used by Barkman and Ritcey to track coal accounts (1940-1943); miscellaneous correspondence, invoices and vessels statements (1914-1930); and George P. Zink's estate papers (1878-1898).

The man on the far right is speculated by Napier Moore to be Thomas Head Raddall, but there is a chance that he had identified the wrong photograph of visitors to the Chester residence, "Driftwood".
File contains a 1000 word article by Andrew Merkel about the history of schooner racing in Nova Scotia prior to the Bluenose, as well as a letter from Merkel to C.B. Cochrane, editor of King's College Record, offering the article for publication.

File contains twenty-six railway passes from 1942 and 1943 documenting travel for members of the Bill Lynch Shows. Destinations and departure points include Halifax, Saint John, Toronto, Bridgewater, Yarmouth, Lawrencetown, Newcastle, Moncton, New Glasgow, and Sydney. All the tickets are first class, except for the three in 1951, which are coach. There are three tickets each for: July 25, 1943, September 4, 1943, September 25, 1943, October 4, 1943, and September 17, 1951. There are two tickets for August 12, 1943. There is one ticket each for September 8, 1942, and September 16, 1943.
File contains daily reports from The Bill Lynch Shows shows and rides from June to September 1951. The reports are from Halifax, Saint John, Amherst, Chatham, New Glasgow, Saint Stephen, Woodstock, Campbellton, Fredericton, Bridgewater, Charlottetown, Lunenberg, and Sydney. Areas that are filled out include name of attraction, starting number, finish number, tickets, price, gross, and total.
File contains 28 receipts and one envelope for The Bill Lynch Shows from June - August, 1951. Some of the receipts are for services including "grind shows," "girl shows," and "esquire." The locations include Moncton, Campbellton, Charlottetown, Lunenberg, New Glasgow, Fredericton, Amherst, Woodstock, Halifax, Saint Stephen, and Saint John.
Collection comprises newspaper articles, programmes, tickets and schedules from sporting events in Truro, Bridgewater, Wolfville and Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, during the 1940s and 1950s.
Fonds contains a ledger from Vernon Simpon's general store in Simpson's Corner, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. The ledger book contains entries from 1929-1930. It was also used as a notebook, with miscellaneous notes entered until 1976. Fonds also contains a letter to Mrs. Vernon Simpson (Olive Eliza Simpson) from Robert H. Winters, Ottawa, November 30, 1953. The letter is a reply to Mrs. Simpson's letter about changes to mail delievery in Simpson's Corner, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. The file with the letter also contains an order form from Veribest Speciality Company and two copies of handwritten minutes of a Community Club meeting held on November 15, 1951.

Item is a map showing a survey of Provincial Water Grant No. 20618, in the Back Harbour of Chester, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. The surveys were conducted on June 10th and 11th, 1954 by Errol B. Hebb of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. The map shows the shoreline along Shore Road, including wharves and lots currently or formerly owned by Clarissa Gibbs, James M. Allen, Andrew Anderson, C. Orchiltree MacDonald, E. R. Paxton, Elizabeth Allen, Verginia M. Allen, Mary L. Ritchie, Florence B. McCurdy, and William F. Bryans. There is also a small map of the Chester area inset in the upper left corner of the drawing.
