Fonds consists of diaries and notebooks; printed programmes, books, and newspaper clippings regarding Col. William Rhoades or the regiments with which he served, including the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles. Fonds also contains miscellaneous papers related to his career.
The diaries and notebooks document Rhoades’ activities while posted in the Yukon, South Africa, and Europe during World War I. Some of the notebooks also contain hand drawn maps of battle fields.

The fonds consists of records that document the administrative and operational activities of the Faculty of Medicine. These include general correspondence, minutes (faculty and departmental), financial records, reports, statistics, administrative relationships, program information, course materials, examination records, newspaper clippings, memorabilia, photographs as well as provide evidence of relationships with outside organizations.
Principally, the material is composed of records from the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Medicine. To facilitate access to the collection the materials have been organized into 17 different series.

(Halifax, regarding the sale of "a history of the great conflict now raging in Europe" for two months at this stage), Greenshields Limited (Montreal, regarding a "good season for dress goods" despite the "war-time dullness of many lines" and the fact that "French goods are cut off entirely [and that some] raw materials such as dyestuffs come from Germany and Austria exclusively"), Holzapfels Limited (Newcastle-on-Tyne, reassuring clients that their company is "absolutely and entirely British"), J.L.
