File contains the manuscript of an article written by Freedman, J.M. Dale, and J. Kerekes, for the Canadian Journal of Zoology, number 63, surveying amphibian larve at more than 150 ditches, bogs, marshes and ponds in Nova Scotia. File also contains reviewer comments and correspondence.
Item is an invitation card for the Three Years Acquisitions opening night at the Dalhousie Art Gallery on December 4, 1973. Three Years Acquisitions was an exhibit of acquisitions, purchases, and gifts obtained by the Dalhousie Art Gallery between 1970 and 1973.
File consists of lists of past, present, and future activities of the Ecology Action Centre, a list of their publications (January - April 1973), and the source of their funds (1971-1973).
File contains correspondence, reports, meeting minutes and notes created and collected by Chris Heide during his tenure as president of ACTRA Maritime Writers' Branch and, later, as chair of ACTRA Halifax Work Opportunities Committee and as chair of ACTRA Maritime Film Committee.
Item is an audio recording of performance for "La Boheme" in the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium at the Dalhousie Arts Centre made by Sheila Piercey on September 17, 1980. Handwritten notes on the label inserted in the case read: "Side II. Actual performance on Sept 17/80. Plus recital by Gloria Richard (C.B.C. Sept 18/80) Beethoven, Brahms, Dupare." The recording is on side B of audio cassette.
File is an audio reel containing an episode of The Word is Out, a radio program broadcast on CKDU radio 88.1. This episode features an "act-up conversation" and personal viewpoints. The episode was recorded on April 12, 1990.
Item is a videocassette of a Chinese doctor lecturing in a film studio about the benefits of acupuncture. The Dalhousie Medical School's Radiation and Oncology Department invited the doctor to speak about acupuncture. The tape was requested by Dr. Wong from the Department of Radiology.
Item is a videocassette of a guest lecture by Dr. Purkis who spoke as part of the Dalhousie Medical School's Friday at Four series. The question and answer section of the lecture is not included. Friday at Four was a lecture series sponsored and organized by the School that focused on a variety of subjects by lecturers invited to speak about specialized areas of medicine. The lectures were held each Friday by the School from the 1970s to the 1990s. The tape was requested by Dr. Clark from the Division of Continuing Medical Education.
The fonds consists of records which document the business activities and interests of Adams & Knickle Ltd. from 1897 until 1968. Information contained in this fonds provides insight into the company’s role as a major fishing and shipping partner in the fishing and shipping industry in Nova Scotia. Also included in this fonds is information about the company’s international relations with the various agents engaged in this industry; the types and amounts of fish landed, processed, shipped and sold by the company; the many transactions involved in operating vessels; and various events that impacted on the company’s operations. The types of documents include: affidavits, agent accounts, agreements, catch journals, correspondence, damage claims, deeds, employment records, financial statements, fish sales records, fishing contracts, ledgers, notices of protest, port documents, sailing journals, time journals, vessel accounts and journals, vessel certificates, and vessel shares.
File contains original drawings and blueprint copies of plans for an addition to a house owned by Dalhousie at the corner of Coburg and Oxford (possibly 6414 Coburg Road), that appears to have been used as a private residence: drawings include details for pantry and kitchen cupboards and built-in oak bookcases.
File contains plans for the third floor addition to the Pharmacy Building, known now as the Burbidge Building. Drawings include floor plans, sections, roof plan, mechanical and plumbing plans.
File contains an agenda of presentations about the role of government enterprise in the offshore oil and gas industry, and the fishing joint venture appraised held at Dalhousie University.
File contains the heating plan for the Macdonald Library stack room and second floor, drawn by architect Andrew R. Cobb and Chris Harrington, heating engineer.
File contains a blueprint set of six sheets of drawings of additions and alterations to the Macdonald Library, which was for the stack room constructed in 1920.
File contains two sheets of drawings for a 1929 addition to the Medical Science Building. There is also a front elevation and a folder with three pages of typed specifications for the alteration by Andrew Cobb.
File contains drawings of additions and renovations to 6104 - 6112 University Avenue, which is now the site of the Kenneth Rowe Building. Drawings include foundation plan and details; plot plan; floor plans; elevations; sections and details.
File contains correspondence between Elisabeth Mann Borgese and Nicole Hegedus, the Acting Coordinator of International Ocean Institute (IOI) Halifax. The correspondence includes a list of members for the Independent World Commission on the Oceans (IWCO).
Series consists of documents accumulated by the administration of the Institute of Public Affairs (IPA). The majority of materials are minutes, memorandums, correspondence, and reports created by, or related to, several committees within the IPA. These committees were designed to develop policies, facilitate decision-making, manage projects, and maintain positive relationships with Dalhousie University administration. Series also contains several news and press releases issued by the IPA to generate publicity for important events hosted by the Institute or achievements of its staff. Series also contains academic plans and program guides produced by the IPA which offer insight into the curriculum at Henson College.
File contains a joint copyright agreement between Christopher Heide and Al MacDonald; publishing contract and correspondence with Borealis Press; correspondence, contract and reviews for the 1998 Tantramar Theatre Festival production; notes, reviews and advertisements for the 1994 Lunenburg Dinner Theatre Company production; correspondence, contract and reviews for the 1980 Stages production; correspondence, contract and reviews for the 1984 Kam Theatre (Thunder Bay) production; and an annotated copy of the published script. There is also correspondence between Chris Heide and Rosemary Gilbert about the possibility of converting Pogie and No More Gasoline into television scripts. File also contains a chronology of events documenting the genesis and evolution of the script development and production.
File contains administrative records, including one policy protocol, one organization chart, one document outlining meeting protocols, a certificate of incorporation, a memorandum of association, and bi-laws.
This series contains documents pertaining to the administrative aspects of the Associated Alumni. Documents include correspondence and questionnaires pertaining to the association's founding as well as drafts of the association's constitution, by-laws, and list of executive committee members.
File contains the Metro Area Committee on AIDS certificate of incorporation, memorandum of association, bi-laws, job descriptions, one draft of the 1988 policy and personnel manual.
Series contains records documenting the administrative functions of Rock Meets Bone, including correspondence, broadcast schedules, purchase forms, and materials from the conference that inspired the program's creation.
Series contains records pertaining to the management of the Halifax Camerata Singers, including financial records, correspondence, minutes from meetings of the Board of Directors, and records relating to the plans for each concert season. The records are organized by concert season, starting with the inception of the Camerata Singers in 1986-1987.
File contains records regarding the administration of the Nova Scotia Centre of the Poetry Society, including its constitution and by-laws, and others textual materials.
Accession includes the minute book from the founding year of 1942 until 1955, collective agreements between the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers' International Union and S. Cunard & Co. Ltd, E.S.F. Ltd, and Archibald Fuels Ltd. Also included in this fonds are photographs of picket lines, and floats, as well as local publications issued by the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers' International Union Local 9-825 to all of its current members. The fonds also includes sample meeting posters for the union meetings, a membership request slip for Local 546, and a document from the Hon. Clarence Llyod Gosse to John Yates regarding his membership to the Provincial Apprenticeship Board.
