"Professors Donald Clairmont and William Benallick, of the Departments of Sociology of Saint Mary's and Dalhousie University, respectively, were engaged as study directors on behalf of the Institute of Public Affairs. Includes correspondence, meeting minutes (detailing the election of Elisabeth Mann Borgese as Chair, and other administrative business), a draft agenda, and a membership list. The file also contains material relating to the Second Session of the Planning Council, including correspondence regarding the peaceful uses of the Arctic Basin project. The file also contains the first provisional agenda for the Pacem in Maribus (PIM) Preparatory Conference on Caribbean and Gulf Development and its Impact on the Marine Environment (held October 26-28, 1972 in Kingston, Jamaica). As well, there is a copy of "The Arvid Pardo Award for Research on the Concept of the Common Heritage of Mankind," a paper likely by Elisabeth Mann Borgese.

The areas and appliances are numbered and labeled with descriptions and measurements. The drawing was produced by Webster's Hotel, Restaurant and Tavern Equipment.

Four letters from David Soloan to Archibald MacMechan

File contains four letters written between 1911-1929 by David Soloan, principal of the Provincial Normal School (later the Nova Scotia Teachers College): three in response to an appeal made by MacMechan for Soloan to contribute an article about Dalhousie to be used in a fundraising campaign, and the fourth to congratulate MacMechan on his 40 years of teaching.
