Baker lake drawings

William Hogarth

File consists of records related to the exhibition of artwork by Willam Hogarth, organized and circulated by the Western Association of Art Museums at Mills College in Oakland, California. The exhibition was presented at the Dalhousie Art Gallery from June 16 to July 11, 1976.

Records consist mainly of contractual documents between Dalhousie Art Gallery and the Western Association of Art Museums, including condition report, inventory, packing and handling instructions, a floor plan, correspondence, and a news release.

Black Artists 1972

File consists of records related to the North American Black Artists exhibition organized by Dalhousie Art Gallery. The exhibition was shown at Dalhousie in November 1972.

Records consist of correspondence between Ernest Smith (Director, Dalhousie Art Gallery) and directors at Brockman Gallery, lists of slides, and letters to the artists requesting samples of artworks in slide form. Records also include four slides of artworks from Manuel Hughes (Professor Art Department, Florissant Valley Community College) and four from Benny Andrews.

Dalhousie #7 Stationary Hospital - J. Stewart - Staff References

File contains copies of letters of reference for former railway dining car workers who enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force, served in the First World War with the (Dalhousie) No. 7 Canadian Stationary Hospital. The correspondence contained herein discusses disagreements over the promises of wages granted to enlisted men from railway companies as a result of two different circulars being signed in relatively short order.

File contains seven pieces of typed correspondence addressing S.R. Balcom, regarding events at the Bramshott Camp, Hants., the No. 9 Canadian Stationary Hospital, and the No. 12 Canadian Stationary Hospital, during and shortly after the First World War. Correspondence sent from Major S.G. Chown, Colonel H.M. Robertson, and Lt.-Col. H.E. Randall.

Folder contains papers and correspondence relating to the Dalhousie University No. 7 Stationary Hospital, including a reunion dinner menu, a company Christmas card, a Christmas card from Laura Hubley to Harold Dunlap (?) of the 85th Battalion (Cape Breton Highlanders), a message from Lt. Col. John Stewart to Laura Hubley, a letter from L.D. Holland to Laura Hubley, and a set of daily orders for the Stationary Hospital.
