Early knowledge of the oceans / University of the Air

Item is episode one of University of the Air's "Oceans" series, recorded on October 24, 1976 and broadcast on CJCH-TV. The episode was presented by Dr. C.R. Mann, Acting Director of the Atlantic Oceanographic Laboratory. Production staff included David Goudge, designer; John Silver, technical producer; Cy True, producer; and Nancy Fraser, national coordinator.

Earth Action

Series contains audio reels from the CKDU radio 88.1 program Earth Action. This program is a weekly environmental radio show by the Ecology Action Centre, established in 1971 Nova Scotia after a course held at Dalhousie University called Living Ecology. The program began in 1987, and was a 15 minute show hosted every Monday at 5:30PM consisting of interviews, a feature called “Lets Clean It Up,” (which focused generally around recycling with the immediate goal of increasing individual awareness about dangerous household hazardous waste), and environmental news. The original team consisted of Robert Pross, engineer; Leslie Shaw, Wayne Hall, Cristina Pekarik, Liz and Debrah Westerburg.

E.B. Rogers's article about the William Inglis Morse Collection

Item consists of Carleton Stanley's typescript copy of an article written by E.B. Rogers (at the behest of C.L. Bennet) submitted to the Halifax Chronicle, discussing a substantial donation of a "valuable collection of books" by William Inglis Morse, which would make up the basis of the William Inglis Morse Collection at the Dalhousie Library. Article is dated January 23, 1933.

Echoes of time weeping : a dramatic solo for soprano and tape : [score]

File contains the score and text translation from Spanish to English. The Spanish translation was completed by Andreas Guibert, with consultation by Marcelo Arroyo. Evelyne Benais, Maral Perk, and Tony Tucker helped with the Flamenco rhythms, and Mary E. Moore did the cover artwork. The composition is based on the Mexican folkloric tale of La Llorana, The Weeping Woman.
