Presentation drawings for a proposed extension to the Science Building

File contains four copies of Andrew R. Cobb's drawings for an extension to the Science Building, which was commissioned by the Board of Governors as part of their building plans during the late 1920s/early 1930s, which also included an Arts Building, gymnasium, power plant, men's dormitory, and extension to Shirreff Hall. The drawings includes basement, ground and second floor plans, and north and west elevations. One copy is in pencil on tissue, two copies are blueprint and one is an electrostatic print set reproduced on polyester.

Presentation drawings for a proposed arts building at Dalhousie University

File contains presentation drawings created by Andrew Cobb for an arts building commissioned by the Board of Governors as part of their building plans during the late 1920s/early 1930s, which also included a gymnasium, power plant, men's dormitory, and extensions to the Science Building and Shirreff Hall. The planned site for the building, which was cancelled due to financial restraints, was adjacent to the temporary arts building, which had been built in 1921 to house the law school. The drawings are all marked "282," which presumably was Cobb's job number for the project.

File is an audio reel containing a recording of a presentation given by Rita Pereira at the Cuba conference held in Halifax. Pereira, a member of the Federation of Cuban Women, spoke about the social progressions of women since the Cuban revolution in 1959. This recording was made November 2, 1989 and aired November 3, 1989 on the Wireless, a CKDU morning news program. It was rebroadcast November 14, 1989 on Title Waves, another CKDU radio program.

Presentation by Carolanne Wright at the North End Library in Halifax

File is an audio reel containing a recording of a presentation by Carolanne Wright at Halifax's North End Library. Wright, a Nova Scotian expatriate and former New Democratic Party (NDP) mayoral candidate, spoke at the library about the role of Black women in politics as part of Black history month. The presentation aired on CKDU April 9, 1991 and was rebroadcast April 12, 1991 on Title Waves; May 6, 1991 on The Evening Affair; April 10, 1991 on From These Roots; May 18, 1991 on Spinsters on Air; and February 18, 1992 at 11:10 am.

Present status of gynecologic malignancy

Item is a videocassette of a guest lecture that was part of the Dalhousie Medical School's Friday at Four series. Friday at Four was a lecture series sponsored and organized by the School that focused on a variety of subjects by lecturers invited to speak about specialized areas of medicine. The lectures were held each Friday by the School from the 1970s to the 1990s. The video was requested by Dr. Putnam from the Division of Continuing Medical Education.
