Fonds comprises photocopies of MacDougall’s diary, reference letters, correspondence from the author Frederick William Wallace and MacDougall’s sister Alice, miscellaneous business papers, and photographs of MacDougall, other mariners, and shipping vessels.
Certificates of discharge (1880-1888) indicate Herbert MacDougall's rise in status from serving as an O.S. (Ordinary Seaman) at age 18, to Mate at age 26.
Fonds comprises records created and collected by James Morrison primarily documenting his oral history research of northern Nigerian communities between 1970-1976, including the Heipang, Riyom, Bachit, Ropp, Kuru and Irrigwe peoples. Record types include field notes; research notebooks; essays; manuscript drafts and a bound copy of Morrison's doctoral thesis; bibliographic files; correspondence; secondary published materials and reports; cassette recordings of oral interviews, speeches, singing and music; photographs related to the Jos Plateau; and a small number of maps.
Letter from Francis V. Hugo to Mrs Saunders, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Hugo's younger sister, Adèle, boarded with the Saunders under an assumed name after she followed Lt. Albert Andrew Pinson from London to Halifax, where he was stationed between 1863-1866.
Fonds consists of correspondence; printed material, including exhibition pamphlets; research and correspondence pertaining to silver, heraldry; manuscripts; family papers; Mackay's own artwork; artist files; and reference materials.
Collection includes correspondence between Charlotte Geddie Harrington and her parents, John and Charlotte Geddie, her sisters, Lucrecia Nielson and Ula Geddie and her brother John Williams Geddie. Correspondence was written between 1853 and 1902. Collection also contains photographs of the Geddie family and missionary activities in the New Hebrides (now the nation of Vanuatu), as well as miscellaneous newspaper clippings on John Geddie and the Geddie family, 1867-1957.
Item is a letter from A.C. MacDonald to Robert Murray. MacDonald was Secretary to the Liberal Party Committee in Pictou County and Township. The letter refers to the benefits of candidates attending constituency meetings prior to the 1847 election.

Collection contains postcards written and collected by the Gass family of Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia. The postcards are primarily of Nova Scotia and some, but not all, have handwritten notes. There are also postcards of Montreal, New York, Washington and Victoria. The majority are written to or from Clare Gass.
