Correspondence from Edna F. Anderson

File contains a letter from Edna F. Anderson of the Boston Symphony Ensemble to John Daniel Logan concerning booking concerts in Yarmouth, Saint John, Moncton, Charlottetown, Sackville, Truro, Halifax, Wolfville, and Annapolis Royal. In her letter she included the proposed programs for two Halifax concerts. The folder also includes biographical information about the ensemble, its conductor Augusto Vannini, and their Canadian tour, as well as several programs for concerts by the Boston Symphony Ensemble.

Program notes, essays, handouts, and correspondence pertaining to Berlioz

File contains program notes, a short essay, and a handout on Hector Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique. The file also includes correspondence from David F. Bell regarding Pugh's submission to a Nineteenth-Century French Studies Colloquium at Duke University (Durham, North Carolina) and from Professor H.W.W. Warman of the University of Lancaster inviting Pugh to deliver a lecture on Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique.

The file also includes John Daniel Logan's ticket stub from one of the performances and an annotated newspaper clipping of a review by Philip Hale on one of the Symphony's performances. One of the programs is for a concert given for the Handel and Haydn Society Centenary (1815-1915) at the Symphony Hall in Boston, Massachusetts; the program includes extensive historical notes on the Society.

The collection contains a variety of theatre and music programs from across Canada, with a special emphasis on events held in and around Halifax, Nova Scotia. There are also programs from England, United States, France and Russia. Programs date from 1937 to 1986 with a gap between 1941 and 1950.

File contains research notes by Anthony Pugh and three programs for performances of Claude Debussy's opera "Pelléas et Mélisande" by the Orchestre National de France and Choeur de Radio France, the Canadian Opera Company, and at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign).

The file also contains two programs from the Liverpool Philharmonic Society and one from the Maine Center for the Arts, used in Pugh's research; and a complete program for a concert by Duo New Brunswick at the University of New Brunswick, with program notes by Anthony Pugh.

The file includes the program for the festival, Pugh's program notes, and correspondence between Robert Kortgaard from the Centre for Musical Arts, University of New Brunswick and the Erich Wolfgang Korngold Society, and Kortgaard and Cambria Master Recordings and Publishing. Kortgaard was the Director of the Music Festival.
