Letter from James Baxter to Dalhousie's President MacKenzie

Item is a letter written by James Baxter to President McKenzie (Arthur Stanley), written in Chatham on 2 November 1917 on letterhead from the Dominion of Canada Quarantine Station of the Public Health Branch of the Department of Agriculture. The letter refers to Baxter's attendance at both the Presbyterian seminary in Truro and Dalhousie College in Halifax in the 1850s and 1860s, and mentions enclosed course tickets and notebooks.

Harmony workbooks

File contains eleven harmony workbooks used by Ellen Ballon, including notes and exercises. Two books are labelled "Mr. Goldmark Harmony Book," in reference to her harmony teacher in New York, Rubin Goldmark. Another book includes an inserted repertoire list of piano compositions, composers, and times, presumably related to her piano lessons with Rafael Joseffy.

College governance is well documented through the minutes and correspondence of the Board of Governors and the Senate, and the President’s records.

The administration of technical education courses in communities throughout Nova Scotia, 1907-1947, is minutely detailed in the records of the Director of Technical Education, as well as through the series of beautiful glass plate negatives of Technical Education classes.

The Public Relations office created files, photographs, sound and video recordings of events, faculty, staff and students of TUNS.

A selection of student records is available in the series of records from the Registrar’s Office; however access is restricted to protect privacy.

The development of the TUNS campus is well documented through construction photographs, aerial photographs, historical overviews, and files on land acquisition and renovations to historic buildings.

This fonds consists of records that document the administrative and operational activities of IBEW Local 625. As the union which represents inside electrical workers across mainland Nova Scotia, Local 625 engages in a variety of activities which are represented in this fonds; these include employer negotiation, grievance administration, dues remittance, pension fund administration, labour advocacy, workers' training and education, strike coordination, recreational events, and membership advocacy. The records in this fonds were created by the union's office staff, business managers, executive board, elected officials, Board of Trustees, membership, and business associates.
