File consists of various research materials on music collected by Anthony Pugh. The file includes the newsletter of the New Brunswick Registered Music Teachers' Association (January 1972); correspondence from the Institute for Bach Studies; list of music positions and organizations in the Fredericton area; a chronological list of music compositions; and two program notes written by Anthony Pugh.

As part of his research, Pugh analyzed music scores, and the annotated scores for Zoltan Kodaly's Cello Sonata, Op. 8 and Charles Ives' "The Unanswered Question," are included in the file.

The file also includes two programs for which Pugh wrote program notes: a concert presented by University of New Brunswick and Saint Thomas University Creative Arts society, "I Musici de Montreal" with Yuli Turovsky, conductor and cellist; and a Creative Arts concert by the resident musicians of UNB (January 29, 1989). Two other programs from concerts by the Liverpool Philharmonic Society are included as they were part of his research. The file also includes a letter to Anthony Pugh from "Don" (dated August 25, 1957 from Keele, England), which includes information on Hindemith.

The file also contains two letters from Michael R. File contains the sheet music for a song by Paul Heinrich with words by Dr. Charles H. Baltzer (published in 1910). The front cover is autographed by Baltzer and a note on the last page indicates that it was sent from Baltzer of Middleton, Nova Scotia. The file also includes 7 poems by Baltzer (not set to music): "Charity," "Apostrophe to the Sun," "The Tree," "To Next Summer,""A Bachelor's Lament,""Frost Ere Roses," and "Greed." Some of the poems are from newspaper clippings and others indicate that they were published in the Halifax Chronicle and the Halifax Herald.

File contains two annotated copies of the score for Jeff Reilly's "Ghost Tracks," one in concert pitch and one in B-flat. The concert pitch score was used by Susan (Sue) Sayles, a violist with the Upstream Ensemble. The score is in three large sections, each of which have various musical phrases notated in common music notation. The pitch material for the composition is derived from seven notes: F-sharp, G, G-sharp, B, C-sharp, D, and E (at concert pitch).
