Gil Winham's public service and consultancy records

Subseries comprises Gil Winham's records related to his public service work on domestic and international committees, projects and panels. These include papers from the International Trade Advisory Committee (ITAC); papers related to his work on the NAFTA Dispute Settlement Panel, 1988-1989; papers from his work on the Royal Commission on the Economy; papers from the Nova Scotia Adjustment Advisory Council, which he served as Chair; and papers from the Erie and Superior Communities Project.

Correspondence of Wilfred Creighton

Series consists of correspondence received by Creighton from family, friends and work associates. There is some outgoing correspondence. The bulk of correspondence is forestry-related. Series is arranged alphabetically by author except bound retirement testimonial letters and correspondence relating to the publication of "Challenges and Response: A History of Wildlife and Wildlife Management in Nova Scotia" by Donald Dodds. Some correspondence is in German.

Audiovisual library

This series consists of audio and video cassettes from the Ecology Action Centre's resource library. Material contains documentaries, interviews, and informational videos regarding environmental issues and similar topics.

Dalhousie University yearbooks

Series comprises Dalhousie University yearbooks, including Pharos; the College of Pharmacy's Mortar & Pestle and Modo Opimum; Faculty of Law yearbooks; the School of Physiotherapy's Amicus Curia; Dalhousie's former Department of Education yearbooks; and the yearbooks of Nova Scotia Technical College and the Technical University of Nova Scotia.

Concert scores

This series comprises records related to music—orchestral, choral, and chamber—performed in concert. Records include drafts and published scores, lyrics, working notes, stage directions, correspondence, publicity materials, performance programs, posters and printed reviews.

Personal correspondence

Series contains personal correspondence of the Smith family. Many of the letters are short notes or cards from friends and family; some are incomplete or have pages missing. Many letters contain information about daily life in Halifax, and, in the case of the letters from Lillie Smith and her daughter Elsie, information about Lillie Smith's death. A number of letters are from unidentified correspondents; where possible, an attempt has been made to identify the relationships of correspondents with the Smith sisters.

Photographs of the Creighton family

Series consists of photographs of family, friends, groups, associations, organizations, and places. Most photographs are of the Creighton family and their extended family. Photographs document the growth of the family, their activities, and their travels. Series includes primarily black and white photographic prints and negatives, as well as a glass negative and some tin types. The subject, date, and individuals of many photographs have been labelled on the back.

Slides

This series consists of black and white and colour slides of images from a history of anatomy book and paintings by VanGogh, Monet, Picasso, Whistler and other artists.

Holy Ghosters

Series includes records created or collected by Mary Vingoe related to her play Holy Ghosters. The play, a historical drama set during the 1750s on the Tantramar marshes, premiered in 1983 at Mulgrave Road Co-Op Theatre, directed by Jan Kudelka. In 1986, Mount Allison University's Windsor Theatre presented a revised version of Holy Ghosters.

Living Curiosities

Series includes records created or collected by Mary Vingoe related to her play Living Curiosities: Or What You Will.

This series contains the master index of Linehan’s poetry volumes and poetry collections. The series also includes the index of Linehan’s personal library collection, his writings, and published manuscripts.

Poems & Prose

This series contains all of Linehan’s poems and writings that do not belong in any specific category. Much of the content is predominantly poems and fragments of poems. In addition, this series includes diary entries, class notes, essays, a play, and recorded dreams.

Research records

Series contains records produced in the course of Jill Grant’s research activity, and includes research applications and reports, research ethics applications and reports, correspondence, notebooks, working papers,slides and print photographs, research data (interviews and surveys) and participant consent forms. Series is divided into subseries by project titles.

Francoise Baylis's lecture and public speaking records

Series contains records pertaining to lectures and presentations given by Françoise Baylis at conferences, seminars, workshops, meetings and other invited events, including public lectures and government committees. File titles, scope and content notes are taken from the original folders and/or drawn from Françoise Baylis's CV. Record types include manuscripts, reports, notes, outlines, overhead transparencies, PP slides (printouts) and limited photocopied research or source materials. Series includes three audio recordings of Françoise Baylis being interviewed on CBC radio programs.

Series consists of photographs, contact sheets, slides, and negatives pertaining to various Neptune productions, personnel, and events. Additional photographs can be found in the Archives (PC3).
