Dalhousie Alumni Association minutes

Subseries contains minutes of both the Executive (later Board of Directors) meetings and of the Annual General meetings, including committee and division reports. Most are written or typed or printed and pasted into bound volumes, which also contain meeting notices and other announcements, and newspapers clippings.

World War One honour roll and memorial book

Subseries contains records created and collected by both the Alumni and the Alumnae Associations in their efforts to compile honour rolls and a memorial for Dalhousians who served in World War One. Records types include correspondence, photographs, newspaper clippings and lists.

D.C. Mackay's original artwork

Subseries contains original artwork by D.C. Mackay, including sketchbooks; pencil and ink drawings; pastels; watercolours; and oil paintings. Many of the sketches and drawings are unsigned and undated.

Queries and Hints

Subseries contains notebooks kept by Dinwiddie titled "Queries & Hints," which take the form of numbered entries in topics in natural philosophy, including astronomy, magnetism and electricity, as well as metallurgy, agriculture, music, and fermentation. There are 22 volumes, some of which contain subject headings.

Student handbooks of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College

Series consists of Nova Scotia Agricultural College student handbooks and agendas, a publication of NSAC Students' Union. The handbooks include a president's message, Student Union message, student union info, and campus information such as the pub, teams, clubs, athletics, career and health services information, and information about the library, information technology, and a quick campus directory in addition to the daytimer and calendar.

Subseries contains correspondence by and about Carleton Stanley and manuscript copies of speeches and articles written by Stanley during his tenure as President of Dalhousie University.

Printed posters and acetate negatives

Series contains paper posters and acetate negatives of posters for meetings, lectures, Pride events, parties, stage shows and dances, many of them held at Rumours, a Halifax bar owned and operated by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance [GALA].

Demonstration banners and flags

Series contains banners and flags created or collected by members of the Gay and Lesbian Association for use in Pride marches, GALA meetings, and other political demonstrations in Nova Scotia.

Art Sketches

This subseries contains a variety of sketches not relating to Robert Doyle's costume design work or his teaching.

Nova Scotia Health Department Health administrative data for hospital and physician services

Subseries comprises computer printouts of Maritime Medical Care (MMC) physicians claims data for 1967/68 - 1968/69 and Medical Services Insurance (MSI) physicians claims data for 1969/70 - 1973/74, which was used for Nova Scotia Health Council studies conducted by Murray Brown and Cameron Voelker and a later study of pre/post Medicare by Murray Brown and Vern Hicks, completed in 1985. There are also data sheets, notes and a commentary on a 1975/76 - 1976/77 - 1982/83 Dalhousie Intern Follow-up Study from May 1983, which was reported to a committee of the Faculty of Medicine.

Theatre Arts Guild production records 1931-1939 and 1950-1999

Series contains records relating to plays performed at the Theatre Arts Guild and by Theatre Arts Guild companies. In most cases, the files contain programs. Some files also include set designs, budgets and financial reports, producers' and others' reports, press notices and articles, posters, sample tickets, scripts, and paper props.

Subseries comprises production records for The Lion in Winter, Robinson Crusoe, Fatal Attraction, Don't Dress for Dinner, Arsenic and Old Lace, Summer Readings and Variety Night.

Theatre Arts Guild membership records

Subseries contains primarily Theatre Arts Guild membership lists compiled between 1957 and 2021, most of which contain name and contact information; there is one file of records regarding a membership drive held during the late 1960s.
