Henry Orenstein's sketches

File contains sketches of various persons and scenes, including Joan rehearsing "La Sagouine," "Purcell's Cove Social Club, 1960s," "Extinct Species, Fisherman 1960s," "Do you know Anyone who Wants A Man?" "Musicians," "Instruments," "Masks," and three sketches of unidentified persons. File also contains a copy of the sketch "Juno & the Paycock" and a photograph of the "Masks" exhibition attached to the sketch.

The Impossible Museum fonds

Fonds contains a selection of documents, drawings, material samples, and images collected by D'Arcy Wilson and Lisa Bouraly during a two-year research project focused on Thomas McCulloch and Andrew Downs. The fonds is part of an exhibition, the "Impossible Museum," curated by Lisa Bouraly and featuring works by D'Arcy Wilson and Amy Malbeuf. The exhibition is presented by Eyelevel Gallery in the Thomas McCulloch Museum in the Dalhousie University Life Sciences Centre from March 5 to April 30, 2020.

Material includes a selection of texts and notes tracing Bouraly's research while preparing the exhibition. These documents were selected by Wilson from Bouraly's collection. Fonds also includes an encapsulated drawing of Thomas McCulloch, material swatches linked to one of the works in the exhibition, scraps and drawings left over from a collage, photographs of works in progress, a copy of the exhibition essay, and other material related to the exhibition. Fonds also includes photocopies of several nineteenth century texts reviewed by Bouraly during her research.

The file box includes a pair of white gloves and a list of materials in the box.

Fonds consists of Joan and Henry Orenstein's materials regarding their professional activities, including photographs, negatives, sketches, programs, flyers, posters, postcards, slides, correspondence and other materials. Fonds includes several photographs of Joan Orenstein acting, Henry Orenstein's art pieces and sketches, and Joan and Henry Orenstein's family photographic negatives.

Survival : Still the issue

Items consist of a video recording by Melodie Calvert, Caroline Murray-Crick and Nancy David. This video work was a part of the 1986 video exhibition, "Life Like It", which featured Halifax-based video artists and traveled nationally. "Survival: Still the Issue" deals with the subject of women's survival in the Halifax region because of the high price and scarcity of shelter, health and employment.
