File contains correspondence regarding the compilation of lists of students who served overseas during World War One, external requests for information about Dalhousie's contributions to the war, and a one-page manuscript: Dalhousie University in the War.
File comprises updated lists in transcript and published form of Dalhousians who served and/or were decorated in World War One as well as lists of those who died. The President's Report included a Roll of Honour during and after the war years. There are also file cards for 41 alumni or Dalhousie students containing information about their parents, service history, years of attendance at Dalhousie and other notes.
Subseries consists of Ronald St. John Macdonald's items of interest collected throughout his life, including biographical materials, art pieces, newspaper clippings, periodicals, books, and other materials.
