Item consists of an album with 401 photographs taken between 1917 and 1927 by Raddall and others. Subjects include Raddall's family and friends; the Halifax explosion, T.H. Raddall, Sr.'s death in W.W.I; Raddall's career as a wireless operator with various ships, crew members, and waterways; the fauna on Sable Island; Raddall's marriage to Edith Freeman; and vacations, hunting, and fishing trips with friends and family across the province of Nova Scotia.

File contains a booklet titled "The Mary Celeste : The odyssey of an abandoned ship" published by The Atlantic Companies in 1942. File also contains an undated poster regarding the Mary Celeste from Walter De Wolfe's Craft Shop.

The accession contains index cards originally stored in 10 small plastic boxes and 1 long cardboard box. The cards were created by Trevor Bebb and contain entries from various shipping registers. The cards describe vessels, captains, and sailors. The accession also contains two oversized ledgers from the nineteenth century and several manuscript sheets of poetry. One plastic box was empty when it entered the archives.

Shipping Reference Collection

The Shipping Reference Collection incorporates virtually all miscellanous shipping records and reference material that were accessioned as part of "MS-8-Ref." A large portion of the collection consists of reference files on various vessels and shipping lines. A card-catalogue index known as "Master and Mates" provides references to microfilmed vessel papers, trade records, registers, and other related materials. The collection also includes photographs, slides, and published materials such as the Lloyd's Register of Ships.

The top left and right photographs are duplicates, and were taken in North Sydney in January 1920. The top middle photograph is a duplicate, and was taken aboard the MMB in March 1920. The bottom right photograph is a duplicate, and was taken in Pictou in March 1920. The bottom centre and left photographs are not identified, though both likely feature Raddall.
