Series also includes records and research materials regarding the development of Macdonald's publications, unpublished papers, and other materials.

Captain Isaac Rayne's records

Series consists of Isaac Rayne's personal records, including promissory notes, a deed, correspondence, family records and other textual records. There are also two locks of his son George's hair, presumably from his early childhood.

Public Policing in Nova Scotia

Series comprises records created or collected by Richard Apostle documenting his research on public policing in Nova Scotia for the Royal Commission on the Donald Marshall, Jr., Prosecution. Record types include correspondence; interview transcripts; provincial police department and RCMP surveys; police officer information sheets; police training manuals and annual reports; statistics; newspaper clippings and secondary research materials; and a response by the Canadian government to the inquiry and reports.

Everett MacDougall's photographs

Series contains photographs, portraits, prints, and postcards of sea captains and ships. Most of the material has notes by Everett Macdougall on the verso. These notes contain information about the origins and builders of the ships as well as biographical information about the sea captains in the portraits.

Learning about AIDS

Series contains audio reels from the CKDU radio 88.1 program Learning About AIDS. This is a two part program prepared by CKDU's city reporter, Donna Mayer, and outlines the dangers of AIDS, safe sex, and the hysteria and discrimination that revolves around it. The series was run for the first time in January of an unknown year.

Reference cards

Series contains a collection of Brian Hall's reference cards used for citations. Materials include two sharp card sorters used for cohesively organising and finding individual groups of cards. There are approximately 20 000 reference cards. The cards deal with a variety of scientific topics, including but not limited to: the effects of mechanical stress on cartilage in vitro; a clinical overview of neurofibramitosis; and the growth of the facial skeleton in the hominoidea. The card sorters are located in Box 6.
