Act to Enlarge the Powers of Institution

This document is a copy of an act issued in 1810 by the King of England enlarging the powers of the Royal Institution of Great Britain. The act allows named proprietors to purchase a library and meeting house on behalf of the institution and outlines the requirements for elections.

Inscription on verso estimates date based on post-construction of IWK but pre-construction of the Rehabilitation Centre on the corner of Summer and University. Also pre-construction of the Nova Scotia Public Archives.

Aerostation, No. 1

These notes written by James Dinwiddie ca. 1793 provide measurements and notes on inflation for an aerostation. The notes provide some history for aerial voyages in the balloon.

Agreement concerning land grants in New Plymouth, signed by Hamilton, Arundell and Surrey, F. Carlile, Sterline H. Matrauers, and Ferde Gorges

The document, although undated, and in spite of an earlier note on the back giving its data as November 1st, 1638, was evidently one of several drawn up as a result of the meeting of the Council for New England held on February 3rd, 1634/5. The original division of the territory was cancelled and a new partition made, dividing it apparently into seven parts. Lord Gorges is the one whose grant is here described.
