He was also an instructor animal husbandry, agronomy, bacteriology and public speaking, and also served as the Secretary of Agriculture for the province from 1907-25. Subseries contains records that were created and used in the partnership project with the Nova Scotia Agricultural College (NSAC) and the Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander (Columbia) in the development of a 'Training Program in Sustainable Agriculture' at UFPS for both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The program ran between 1997 and 2002. The Universidad Francisco de Paula Santander (UFPS) was asked to play a key role in “El Salto Social”, the social leap forward, in the Santander region of Colombia. New curricula was to be introduced at UFPS, faculty being upgraded and new extension and outreach programs being established with the assistance of NSAC through this project. Other project partners were the Universidad de la Republica Uruguay (URU) of Uruguay and Saint Mary’s University (SMU). This was an Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) University Program for Cooperation in Development (UPCD) Tier 2 project led by NSAC. NSAC Personnel involved were Norman Goodyear, Bonnie Waddell, Sam Asiedu, and Leanne French.
