Series contains exhibition files created by the Dalhousie Art Gallery. Exhibition files contain administrative records that document the planning and promotion of exhibitions presented at the Dalhousie Art Gallery from its inception in 1953 to the present day. Some known exhibitions do not have corresponding exhibition files, but the series provides a comprehensive record of the gallery's exhibitions.

Exhibition files 1958

File consists of records relating to exhibitions held at the Dalhousie Art Gallery in 1958.

Records include a memo from Alex S. Mowat (Chairman of the Dalhousie Art Committee) calling for submissions for the fifth annual showcase of artworks by students, staff, and alumni of Dalhousie University, held in April 1958; and a list of names and prices of artworks shown in the Canadian Medical Association Annual Convention's 'Exhibition of Paintings by Nova Scotian Artists', hosted by Dalhousie University in June 1958.

Fathers of confederation-miniature portraits exhibition

File consists of records related to the travelling exhibition 'Miniature Portraits of the Fathers of Confederation' presented at Dalhousie Art Gallery from October 11-21, 1967, through the Centennial Commission. The portraits were created by Juliette de Lavoys and commissioned by Samuel L. Bronfman, who donated the collection to Canada.

First Dalhousie drawing exhibition

File consists of records related to the first annual Dalhousie drawing exhibition, organized and selected by Michael Snow. The show was held at Dalhousie Art Gallery from January 9 - 28, 1976. The artists that participated in this exhibition were Michael Snow, Royden Rabinowitch, Joyce Wieland, John Meredith, Ron Martin and Dennis Burton.

Flag set

File consists of a catalogue for the exhibition 'Flag Set' of artworks of George Wood, organized and circulated by Memorial University Art Gallery. The exhibition was presented at Dalhousie Art Gallery in October 1972.

Catalogue contains a biography of Wood, a preface written by Peter Bell, a list of paintings in the exhibition and some images of them, and poetry.

Flora Rey: embassy of Argentina exhibition

File consists of records related to the Flora Rey exhibition held at Dalhousie Art Gallery in October 1973.

Records consist of two copies of condition report and an article titled 'Rey Poetically Persuasive,' written by Ernest Smith (Director, Dalhousie Art Gallery) of the Dalhousie Gazette published on October 26, 1973. Flyoplane blueprints

File contains five blueprints for the assembly of the Flyoplane, a ride held by the Bill Lynch Shows. Assembly includes: edgemont clutch and countershaft, car and lighting, gear drive, sweep, and center section and cage. All include parts lists.

Folk art of Nova Scotia

Item is a catalogue of a travelling exhibition of 20th century folk artists from Nova Scotia, organized and circulated by the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia with funding from the National Museums of Canada and the Canada Council. The exhibition was presented at Dalhousie Art Gallery in 1978.
