Fonds primarily contains records of the GayLine a phone helpline for LGBT Nova Scotians funding by GAE/GALA that operated between 1972-1996. In 1994 the name was changed to the Gay, Lesbian & Bisexual Line.
Fonds contains three series; one containing administrative and financial records, one containing recruitment and training materials, and one containing reference materials for volunteers. Materials include monthly and annual reports; meeting minutes; call logs and templates; staff notebooks; correspondence; pamphlets; volunteer training session materials, application forms and guidelines; flyers; legal briefs and resources; newsletters; essays; bibliographies; and directories.

File contains materials relating to Now We Can Talk About AIDS : A First national Conference for Gaylines in Canada hosted by Pink Triangle Services, held in Ottawa from February 25-27, 1994. Collection contains duplicate materials from fonds in the Nova Scotia LGBT Seniors Archive. Materials in collection include posters; programs, flyers, and promotional materials; pamphlets and outreach materials; and wearable ephemera including buttons and pins, badges, medals, clothing, and other regalia. Materials in series relate to Halifax Pride and other pride celebrations, political demonstrations, Lesbian and Gay Rights Nova Scotia [LGRNS] operations and events, Halifax Fetish Ball and Mr. Atlantic Canada [M.A.C.] Leather events, Gay and Lesbian Association [GALA] meetings and operations, events held at Rumours bar, LGBT films, and other LGBT causes and events.

Materials relating to meetings of LGBT organizations

File contains a list of all members of the executive of the Gay Alliance for Equality [GAE] from 1985-1988, including positions and approximate terms. File also contains a first draft of Christians Assembled to Respond to AIDS (CARAS) "Brief to the Nova Scotia Task Force on AIDS".

Series contains duplicate posters from fonds in the Nova Scotia LGBT Seniors Archive. Materials in series include posters for the Halifax Fetish Ball, Mr. Atlantic Canada Leather [M.A.C. Leather] contests, other LGBT events in Halifax and Montreal, LGBT films, and posters and acetate negatives of posters for events held at Rumours, a bar owned and operated by the Gay and Lesbian Association of Nova Scotia [GALA].
