Fonds contains architectural drawings created by Drew Sperry as a student at Nova Scotia Technical College and later as a certified architect. His student work comprises presentation drawings, while the designs for his own home in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and two other residential commissions include both presentation and construction drawings. There are two folders of textual records, which comprise a transcript of an interview with Drew and Sheila Sperry, real estate appraisals of their Dartmouth residence, and early budget breakdowns from Sperry's architectural practice.

The 1949 drawings, produced by Leslie Fairn and C. The 1964 and 1979 drawings are for additions and extensions, and were produced by Duffus, Romans, Kundzins and Rounsefell Ltd. The file also includes a set of drawings printed at reduced scale for a submission by Lydon Lynch issued September 2002 for a National Research Council New Industry Partnership Facility Institute for Marine Biosciences.

The fonds consists of architectural plans, Bass River picnic files, correspondence and invoices, counter books, customer and employee records, export papers, interest books, journals, ledgers, legal documents, merchandise invoices, photographs, printed materials, reports and shareholder papers, sales books/journals, sales invoice copy books, statement books, and stock inventories, spanning over 100 years from 1870 to 1975. These materials illustrate accounting methods, the production of and market for chairs, shipping processes, relationships with other companies and the community, etc. The majority of the fonds consists of correspondence and invoices, both to and from Dominion Chair, including orders for company goods, for factory equipment, and items to stock the general store. Together the items are useful in understanding the organizational structure, management, and operations of the Dominion Chair Company, and provide insight into business operations in Nova Scotia throughout the late 19th and 20th centuries.

Smith wing of the Macdonald Library; it is possible that these furniture plans were used instead for the Morse Room, which was located behind the MacMechan Auditorium.
