Series consists of records regarding Ransom Myers’ work as a consultant under the incorporated company Ransom A. Myers & Associates Limited Natural Resources Consultant. Offshore fishermen's wives study

Series consists of records related to Binkley's study of how wives and families of fishermen are affected by the profession, particularly with regard to deep sea fishers in comparison to coastal fishers. Records include some correspondence, research, notes on the findings, surveys conducted with wives, interview transcripts, time sheets of wives comparing their daily activities during the time their husband is away and when he is home, audiocassettes with recorded interviews, and summaries of the study's results.

Series consists of records documenting the administrative, creative, financial, legal, production, and publicity and marketing activities of this project. This short drama is based on a story written by Maxine Tynes, with the screenplay written by Maxine Tynes and Lulu Keating. It is set in Halifax's black community in the 1990s and tells the story of a young girl working for an affluent family. The program was broadcast as part of the CBC series Inside Stories. This series contains agreements, budgets, call sheets, contact lists, correspondence, crew lists, incorporation documents, schedules, scripts, tape records, and video recordings.

The Peggy

Series consists of records documenting the administrative, legal, and publicity and marketing activities of this project. This short thirty-minute drama for television tells the story of two Acadian brothers deciding the fate of their inherited island, playing their childhood game “peggy.” It was set and shot in Sambro, Nova Scotia and represents contemporary Acadian life effectively. It was based on a radio play written by Silver Donald Cameron, with the script also written by Cameron. The Peggy was produced by Chris Zimmer, co-produced and directed by Cordell Wynne, and starred Gabrielle Rose, Marcel Sabourin, and Dennis O'Connor. It was broadcast as part of the CBC series Inside Stories. This series contains agreements, a cast list, credits, correspondence, English dialogue transcripts, music cue sheets, publicity stills, a synopsis, and video recordings.

Series includes records regarding Ransom Myers’ involvement in conferences, workshops and working groups. Series consists of records documenting the administrative, creative, financial, legal, and production activities of this project. This potential dramatic feature film was a romantic comedy based on a script by Hans Boggild. It tells the story of a Nova Scotian fisherman who reinvents himself as a successful singer in Toronto under a new persona. This series contains agreements, budgets, correspondence, casting audition sheets, resumes, an editor's report, a distribution/marketing plan, music notes, a synopsis, scripts, notes on the screenplay, and a production schedule.

Françoise Baylis's grant records

Series contains records illustrating Francoise Baylis's achievements in the acquisition of major grants for both research and training purposes, both as principle investigator and in the role of co-investigator or collaborator. The records are primarily administrative in nature, such as applications, letters of intent, correspondence and meeting notes with colleagues, as well as correspondence with granting agencies and research ethics boards. Some files contain draft or published papers. The series includes a sub-series of records pertaining to applications or proposals that were either rejected or declined, and some of these files include brief notes of explanation.

Françoise Baylis's committee, professional and public services records

Series contains records illustrating Françoise Baylis's professional service, including committee work, Governor-In-Council appointments, and legal consultation as an expert witness. Other records pertain to her research appointments (e.g., Canada Research Chair) and elected positions (e.g., RSC fellowship). Also included in this series is a file of clinical consultations from Françoise Baylis's employment as a bioethicist at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. Series contains materials collected as part of Stewart's LGBT advocacy at St John's United Church in Halifax, and his subsequent involvement with Affirm United, an advocacy organization founded in 1982 that supports LGBTQ members of the United Church of Canada. Stewart was involved in the process of achieving Affirmed status for St John's United Church through the Affirming Ministries Program. Series contains articles, essays, and pamphlets regarding homosexuality and religion; informational documents associated with Affirm United and the Affirmation Congregation Program; manuals and other reference materials relating to the operation of Affirmed congregations; correspondence; issues of Consensus, the Affirm United newsletter; and issues of Open Hands, a journal published by Affirmations: United Methodists for Lesbian/Gay Concerns.

Black Cultural Centre Presents

Growing up Black in Halifax

The series originated from a conversation between Rocky Jones and his daughter, Tracey Jones during Black History Month in February 1989. The series is an interview between Belinda MacFadyen of CKDU radio and Tracey Jones.

Series contains audio reels from the CKDU radio 88.1 two-part program Rocky Jones on Racism. It features Burnley (Rocky) Jones, a Halifax lawyer, human rights activist, and prisoners rights advocate who fought for the defeat of racism. Jones earned his law degree from Dalhousie University in the 1990s.
