Series contains duplicate pamphlets and outreach materials from fonds in the Nova Scotia LGBT Seniors Archive. Materials in series include anti-discrimination pamphlets produced by Lesbian and Gay Rights Nova Scotia [LGRNS], and pamphlets produced by Churchmembers Assembled to Respond to AIDS [CARAS].

Gaezette

Subseries contains duplicate issues of Gaezette, a publication which was originally published as the newsletter for the Gay Alliance for Equality. It was published by a non-profit collective between 1984-1995, when it changed its name to Wayves. It existed to inform lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people across Atlantic Canada of activities in their communities, and to promote those activities and support their aims and objectives.

Collection is comprised of materials collected by Don Murchy as part of his involvement with the TightRope Leather Brotherhood, a men's leather and denim club that operated in Nova Scotia from the early 1990s to 2007. Materials document TightRope operations, as well as the involvement of TightRope members in Mr. Atlantic Canada [M.A.C.] Leather contests and Halifax Fetish Ball events. Materials in this collection include administrative records, by-laws and guiding documents, membership lists, posters and other promotional materials, and photographs.

Murchy, Don

Women of Note performance

File contains one cassette tape recording of performance of the Ottawa-based choral group Women of Note. The group was a predecessor to the Halifax-based group The Secret Furies, and featured three Nova Scotian members, Anne Bishop, Barbara MacDonald, and Pat Brennan. The tape features a performance of the song This is Not a Bingo at the Women's Health Interaction fundraiser in Ottawa on April 1, 1987. The tape also contains recordings of the songs La Andina ; Divide and Rule ; Roly Poly People ; The Spelling Song ; Period Piece ; This is Not a Bingo.

Churchmembers Assembled to React to AIDS [CARAS]

Series contains materials from the organization Churchmembers Assembled to React to AIDS (CARA or CARAS) and includes meeting minutes, financial records, correspondence, and educational materials. Fonds also contains records from two projects run by CARA: Morton House, a hospice for people living with AIDS, and AIDS-LINK, a project aimed at connecting people with AIDS to resources and support.

Reports and articles regarding gay rights

File contains a notice of a meeting from Coalition for Human Rights Reform New Brunswick 1988 and several documents titled "Strategy for Gay Rights", "AIDS, Human Rights and the Revival of Lesbian/Gay Politics in the Maritimes" by Anne Bishop, 1989, "Rights Now" Strategy for Gay and Lesbian Rights", a paper on discrimination against Gay and Lesbians, and a paper titled "Sexual Orientation and Human Rights in Nova Scotia". File also contains LGRNS missions statement.
