The file also includes a drawing of the interior of an unidentified restaurant.

Drawings of proposed electrical arrangements and modifications to propoulsion shafting for the Bluenose II

File contains three drawings of proposed modifications for the Bluenose II. The drawings include a diagram of the existing electrical arrangement with proposed modifications; two copies of a drawing of a proposed modification to the propulsion shafting; and two copies of a proposed schematic diagram of electrical distribution. These notes contain information about the origins and builders of the ships as well as biographical information about the sea captains in the portraits.

Existing electrical arrangement of Bluenose IInd 32 volt D.C. & 115 volt A.C.

Item is a technical drawing of the existing electrical arrangement of the Bluenose II. The drawing was prepared on July 19th, 1965 for the Halifax Shipyards as is labelled "Sketch No H.S.L.-BL/EL-2." The sketch is overlaid with proposals for expansions or changes to the arrangement, which are printed in red.

Five charcoal and pencil study sketches by Donald Cameron Mackay

Item consists of five small pencil and charcoal sketches by D.C. Mackay, likely from the early-1940s. The first three sketches show equipment on the deck of an unidentified Canadian naval ship in convoy formation; the middle sketch shows a focus of legs in motion; the sketch on the right-hand side shows a Canadian sailor walking.

The drawing includes a drawing of the lower deck; a drawing of the main deck; a section through aft accommodation looking aft; a section through crews accommodation looking forward; a section through the lounge looking forward; and a section through the hold looking forward. The drawing was produced by R. O'Brien for the Halifax Shipyards Drawing Office. Both copies of the drawing have a stamp of approval from the the Halifax Shipyards Drawing Office.

Himmelman Supply Company fonds

Fonds contains the business papers from Himmelman Supply Company and several other companies owned or operated by Ernest H. Himmelman and Lawrence Himmelman. These include O.K. Service Shipping Company, Himmelman Shipping Limited, Oakland Shipping Limited, LaHave Investments Limited, Nova Hereford Farms, and Himmelman Supermarket Limited. The fonds contains a variety of business papers, including meeting minutes and administrative records, ships' vessel papers, correspondence, financial statements and ledgers, legal agreements and contracts, blueprints and maps, and photographs.

Some of the personal papers of Lawrence Himmelman are also included in the fonds, including correspondence with the LaHave School, the local fire department, and other groups, financial records, and contracts and agreements.

In 1954, a fire in the Himmelman Supermarket destroyed many of the business records. Most records in the fonds are from after this date, though some vessel papers and correspondence from before the fire survived. Fonds consists of 18 series. Administrative, Correspondence, Financial, and Vessel Papers Series contain records for Himmelman Supply Company and subsidiary companies. Additional records for subsidiary companies are found in series for Himmelman Shipping Company, O.K. Service Shipping Limited, Oakland Shipping Limited, LaHave Shipping Limited, and LaHave Investments Limited. Each vessel from the O.K. Service Fleet also has a series.
