Biographical history

Dorothy Dobson and her husband John researched and wrote about maritime subjects. Her publications include The Story of the Brigantine Rover (1996).

Custodial history

Records were donated to the Dalhousie University Archives by Dorothy and John Dobson in three accessions: (29-95) on 9 June 1995; (60-97) on 6 November 1997; and (42-98) on 11 June 1998.

Scope and content

File comprises Dorothy and John Dobson's research records and notes about the O'Briens, a family of Nova Scotia master mariners. There are also photographs of the schooner Lilian E. Kerr.
