Four letters from David Soloan to Archibald MacMechan

File contains four letters written between 1911-1929 by David Soloan, principal of the Provincial Normal School (later the Nova Scotia Teachers College): three in response to an appeal made by MacMechan for Soloan to contribute an article about Dalhousie to be used in a fundraising campaign, and the fourth to congratulate MacMechan on his 40 years of teaching.

File contains five invitations to events at Dalhousie sent to Avis Marshall, including a dance by the junior class of the Faculty of Arts and Science; a sale of gifts and novelties from the Hwaiking Shop; an "at home" at the Pine Hill residence; a dance at Kings College; and an "at home" at the Waegwoltic Club.

Dance tickets and cards

File contains two tickets and 13 dance cards from dances at Dalhousie University, the Waegwoltic Club, and Pine Hill. Most of the dance cards have been filled in with the names of her dance partners.

Correspondence to Aurelio Peccei and the Executive Committee

File contains a memo from John Platt at the University of Michigan to Aurelio Peccei and the Executive Committee of the Club of Rome suggesting a conference on "megafamine." There is also a memo from Nello Celio suggesting that the current executive be reappointed for another three-year term.

Correspondence between Movie Makers magazine and Alexander Leighton

File contains a series of letters between Arthur Gale and Alexander Leighton regarding his film "Porpoise Oil." The correspondence includes an announcement of its inclusion as an Honorable Mention by Movie Makers staff in the selection of the Ten Best Non-theatrical Films of 1937, as well as letters about an article Gale commissioned from Leighton about the making of his film. There is also correspondence from 1941 with James Moore at The Amateur Cinema League regarding Alexander Leighton's possible submission of his film about Navajo life, "Work for your Own," for a contest in the Special Class.
