File contains drafts of, and research for, program notes by Anthony Pugh pertaining to the following composers: Giovanni Gabrieli, Francesco Geminiani, George Gershwin, Alexander Glazounov, Christoph Willibald Gluck, Mikhail Glinka, Edvard Grieg, Johan Halvorsen, George Frideric Handel, Franz Joseph Haydn, Paul Hindemith, Josef Holbrooke, Arthur Honnegger, Johann Nepomuk Hummel, Gustav Holst, Charles Ives, Dmitry Kabalevsky, Aram Khachaturian, Zoltan Kodaly, Édouard Lalo, Witold Lutoslawski, and Fritz Kreisler. As part of his research, Pugh analyzed music scores, and the annotated scores for Zoltan Kodaly's Cello Sonata, Op. 8 and Charles Ives' "The Unanswered Question," are included in the file.

The file also includes two programs for which Pugh wrote program notes: a concert presented by University of New Brunswick and Saint Thomas University Creative Arts society, "I Musici de Montreal" with Yuli Turovsky, conductor and cellist; and a Creative Arts concert by the resident musicians of UNB (January 29, 1989). Two other programs from concerts by the Liverpool Philharmonic Society are included as they were part of his research. The file also includes a letter to Anthony Pugh from "Don" (dated August 25, 1957 from Keele, England), which includes information on Hindemith.

File contains the score and text translation from Spanish to English. The Spanish translation was completed by Andreas Guibert, with consultation by Marcelo Arroyo. Evelyne Benais, Maral Perk, and Tony Tucker helped with the Flamenco rhythms, and Mary E. Moore did the cover artwork. The composition is based on the Mexican folkloric tale of La Llorana, The Weeping Woman.

File contains the instrumental parts for Paul Cram's compilation of arrangements entitled "Transfigured Night." The piece includes four arrangements: "Wie Lange Noch?" by Kurt Weill for soprano, accordion, and contrabass; String Quartet Op. 28, 2nd movement by Anton Webern for string quartet; "All the Things you Are" by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II for trumpet, alto saxophone, bass clarinet, and baritone saxophone; and a fugue by Johann Sebastian Bach for flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon. The piece also includes two newly-composed sections for guitar, bass, and drums, and piano and cello duet.

File contains annotated parts for Reilly's composition "Ghost Tracks," for concert, E-flat, and B-flat instruments. According to one of the annotations, the composition was performed as an octet at the Pier 21 Museum in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

File contains parts for Bauer's improvisational composition in five sections: Sitar Drone Atmosphere; Falling - Filling the Cup; The Streets of Calcutta; Ascension - Reaching Beyond Life; and Resolution. The composition is for violin, bassoon, piano, guitar, and oboe and lacks a clear tonal centre and meter.The last section is a canon between the violin and bassoon.

File contains two annotated copies of the score for Jeff Reilly's "Ghost Tracks," one in concert pitch and one in B-flat. The concert pitch score was used by Susan (Sue) Sayles, a violist with the Upstream Ensemble. The score is in three large sections, each of which have various musical phrases notated in common music notation. The pitch material for the composition is derived from seven notes: F-sharp, G, G-sharp, B, C-sharp, D, and E (at concert pitch).

Drum parts from the PCO "Campin Out" tour

File contains drum parts for the Paul Cram Orchestra's second Canadian tour in September 2001 in support of the band’s debut CD on the Victo Label: “Campin Out.” The group played Halifax, Ottawa (National Library of Canada), Guelph (Guelph Jazz Festival), Vancouver (Western Front), and Montreal (Sala Rossa). Works included are: "Taiwanese Bootleg"; "Life of Crime"; "Tip of the Iceberg"; "High Ground"; "Have a Heart"; "Walking the Wall"; Eye of the Storm"; "Kafka's Chair"; "Immortal Coil", "Zebra Zone"; "Urban Desperado"; "Thunder"; and "Campin' Out." "Thunder" premiered in 1996 at Dalhousie University and was broadcast on CBC Radio Drama in 2001. The piece has five movements: 1. They Say; 2. 1963; 3. Twin Cities; 4. Black Dog; and 5. Vanishing.

File contains annotated parts for "Have a Heart," composed by Paul Cram for the Paul Cram Orchestra and performed on their May 2000 concert tour in Halifax, Toronto, Victoriaville, Quebec, and Ottawa.
