Files consists of: scissors, hemostats, suture needles; suture thread; a metal box; and a syringe in a canvas roll. The medical kit was part of the medical supplies issued by the British military during World War II.

Brass medical briefcase with five compartments

Files consists of one hinged brass medical briefcase, divided horizontally; one side is further divided into four equal compartments. The cover is domed; there are two brass latches; one lock latch without a lock and an adjustable brass handle on the cover. The inside bottom of the satchel is lined with green felt. Inscribed with the monogram M.G.H.

Preliminary floor plans for a library at Dalhousie University

File contains 3 pages of blueline prints of floor plans for a library at Dalhousie University, drawn by C.D. Davison & Company, the architectural firm that designed Dalhousie's Student Union Building in 1967. Undated and stamped "preliminary," the plans indicate a library with three floors. The drawings for floors 2 and 3 are annotated with potential seating and/or stack capacity for social sciences, humanities, rare books, graduate students, research and audio visual users, as well as conceptual drawings of study carrels and audio visual booths.

Vederala's notebook

Item is a sixteenth century ola, or palm leaf manuscript. The pages are held together with a cord, silver medallion, and lacquered wood covers painted with line drawings. The manuscript is part of "The Casey A. Wood Medical Collection of Sinhalese Materia Medica" (item number 225).

File consists of the following reports: Report Regarding Condition of Bequests to the Victoria Hospital and Hospital for Insane; A Statement of the Dispute between the Late Medical Board of the Provincial and City Hospital and the Board of Commissioners of Public Charities; A Year at the Provincial and City Hospital; Victoria General Hospital Halifax; Early Hospitals in Nova Scotia and the Forty-Third Report of the Nova Scotia Hospital for the Insane, for the year 1899-1900.

Clock designs for the Macdonald Library reading room

File contains unsigned five drawings on four sheets of card showing five different designs for a clock for the over the chimneypiece or mantle in the Macdonald Library's reading room. The drawings include materials (oak and bronze), measurements and pricing, which range from $400 for the smallest to $2020 for the largest and most elaborate design.

Series consists of records created, collected or otherwise pertaining to the Medical Dental Library and earlier iterations of the library that served Dalhousie's faculties of medicine and dentistry before the establishment of the W.K. Kellogg Health Sciences Library in 1967.
