The Archives of Oland and Son Limited consists of records created by Oland and Son Limited and its affiliated companies. Some of the companies changed names after Oland and Son sold its brewing assets to John Labatt Limited. Records for these companies are included as well. Records range from 1867 to 1989, but were predominiately created between 1950 and 1971.

The Archives contains a large amount of correspondence between Oland and Son and its affiliated companies and various businesses, government agencies, associations, and individuals from across the Maritimes and around the world. Financial records typically include financial statements, cost reports, comparative statements, general ledgers, valuations, audit reports, and other records documenting the financial position of the various companies. Extensive advertising and marketing files exist, including advertising contracts and schedules, proofs and sketchs, reports and proposals, and budgets. The Archives also has extensive sales records documenting the sale of beer across the Maritimes, Quebec, and parts of the United States and the Caribbean. The Archives also contains hundreds of photographs and blueprints of the factories, factory equipment, and the Bluenose II.

Series consists of the records of Lindwood Holdings Limited. Some records were created by Oland and Son Limited, Oland Investments Limited, and Keith Hall Investments Limited. Series is broken in to five Sub-Series: Administrative, Correspondence, Financial, Labour and Employee Relations, and Photographs.

Administrative Sub-Series consists of the administrative records of the company's executive members and include meeting minutes of the Board of Directors and the President's Committee, agendas, annual reports, inter-office memorandums, property management records and various agreements the company entered into.

Correspondence Sub-Series consists of correspondence between Lindwood Holdings Limited and its various business associates. Correspondence is typically filed by the name of the correspondent or by the subject of the correspondence file. Sub-Series also contains personal correspondence belonging to H. Norman Stanbury and Bruce Oland. Company correspondence may exist in other sub-series if it was filed with records belonging to that series.

Financial Sub-Series consists of the financial records of the company and the records of its investment activities. Sub-Series includes financial statements, memorandums and correspondence regarding company investments, investment notes, valuations of company shares, dividend payments, and correspondence regarding the investment accounts of company executives.

Labour and Employee Relations Sub-Series consists of records relating to the administration of the company pension fund and employee benefits and includes meeting minutes of the trustees of the pension fund, financial statements, lists of pensioners, memorandums regarding employee wages and benefits, and correspondence.

Photographs Sub-Series contains photographs documenting a fire at the Keith's Brewery facility on Lower Water Street.

Sub-Series also contains personal correspondence of Robert T. Merchant, R.D. Mussett, and Bruce Oland. Correspondence is generally filed by the name of the correspondent, except where the original file was labelled by subject.

Manuel and distributed to executives of the company, a plant operation manual, plans for brewing equipment, a sample of daily and weekly production reports, and brewery inspection reports. Blueprints subseries contains a blueprint of the overall layout of the brewery and prints for structural supports and storage tanks. Some beer production records for Olands Brewery Limited are also filed in the Beer Production Sub-Series of Oland and Son Limited.

Correspondence Sub-series contains correspondence between Olands Brewery Limited and various businesses and individuals it interacted with. File titles are either the name of the correspondent or the subject of the correspondence in the file. Subseries also contains the personal correspondence of J.KS. Manual (Plant Manager) and other correspondence mixed in the business papers of the company. Correspondence before 1958 is primarily from Red Ball Brewery.

Financial Sub-series contains financial statements, a general ledger from Simeon Jones Brewery, detailed cost statements of beer produced, balance sheets, and a sample of share certificates. Some of the financial figures of the company were reported in consolidated financial statements of Oland and Son Limited, A. Keith and Son Limited, and Olands Brewery Limited. These statements are filed in the Financial subseries of Oland and Son Limited. Some financial records for Olands Brewery Limited are also filed in the Beer Production Sub-Series of Oland and Son Limited.

Labour and Employee Relations Sub-series contains meeting minutes from the labour management committee, pension plan certificates, lists of withdrawals from the employees' pension plan, reviews of the employees' pension plan, and draft and published labour agreements between Olands Brewery Limited and Local 364 of the International Union of United Brewery, Flour, Cereal, Soft Drink, and Distillery Workers of America.

Legal Sub-series contains a memorandum of agreement and stock book, share transfers, patent certificates, indebtures, mortgage agreements, and real estate agreements.

Marketing and Advertising subseries contains some correspondence about advertising , a proposal prepared by Backman Advertising, sample beer bottle labels, and an advertising poster for a shuffleboard tournament. Advertising and marketing records relating to general Olands products and advertising campaigns are filed in the Marketing and Advertising subseries of Oland and Son Limited.

Photographs subseries consists of four photographs, 1 of the original Army and Navy Brewery in Halifax, Nova Scotia and three prints of David L. Cashen for his appointment as marketing manager.

Sales Department subseries consists of monthly and weekly sales reports and bulletins, reports on deliveries to New Brunswick Liquor Commission stores, statistical reports, and copies of sales reports sent to the Brewers Association of Canada.
