Julia Healy exhibition

File consists of records related to the exhibition 'Julia Schmitt Healy: Recent Work,' held at Dalhousie Art Gallery from February 24 - March 14, 1976.

Records consist mainly of photographs of Healy's artworks. They also contain a list of expenses and two colour postcards showing one of Healy's paintings.

Kaethe Kollwitz

File consists of records related to the Kaethe Kollwitz exhibition organized and circulated by the Western Association of Art Museums at Mills College in Oakland, California. The exhibition was presented at the Dalhousie Art Gallery from August 15 to September 15, 1976.

Records consist of correspondence, packing lists, a floor plan, the exhibit background materials, sample press releases, inventory, bibliographies, the artist's biography and a chronology. Also includes two photographs of a self-portrait lithograph (1934) and a self-portrait drawing (1933).

Karl McKeeman

File consists of records related to the planning and presentation of an exhibition of works by Karl Douglas McKeeman, presented by the Dalhousie Art Gallery from September 4-28, 1975. The works are photo engravings of sections of 19th-century American luminist's paintings.

Records consist of correspondence, a floor plan, a list of expenses, interdepartmental memos, a biography of McKeeman, a bibliography, an art critic and writer, and a photocopied image of Karl McKeeman with three individuals at the opening night reception at the art gallery. File also includes invitation cards, Karl's notes, and photographic prints of 'The Heart of the Andes.'

File consists of records related to the exhibition 'Lawren Phillips Harris Retrospective', organized and circulated by the National Gallery of Canada. The exhibition was presented at Dalhousie Art Gallery in December 1972.

File consists of records related to the planning and presenting of guest lectures, presentations, readings, and talks organized through the Dalhousie Art Gallery for the period of 1968-1970. Records primarily relate to the planning of a lecture by Andrew Hudson.

Records consist primarily of correspondence of Evelyn Holmes (Acting curator, Dalhousie Art Gallery). Additional records consist of a photograph of guest lecturer Russel Harper (Professor, author), an itinerary for Mr. Andrew Hudson, a newspaper clipping regarding Hudson's visit, three lecture outlines, and biographies and curricula vitae for Andrew Hudson, Joan M. Vastokas, and Russell Harper.

Leslie E. Haley's records regarding the Nova Scotia Agricultural College

File contains correspondence between the Nova Scotia Agricultural College members regarding highschool training projects and the emerging technology workshop for teachers and a typescript about lessons involving engine piston movement. File also includes a photograph of Leslie E. Haley and various unidentified individuals.

Letter and card to Kenneth Leslie from Rosaleen Dickson

File contains an undated typed letter from his daughter Rosaleen regarding sending a selection of typed copies of poems to Mr. [Patrick] Crean at McClelland and Stewart and also mentions that Sean Haldane, publisher of The Collected Poems of Kenneth Leslie, had not been informed of the efforts to publish an alternate collection of Leslie's works. File also contains a facsimile family photograph of the Dickson children: Jennifer, Elizabeth, Marjorie, Ross, and Charles.

Letter from Ethel to Bill Lynch and other material

File contains an envelope address to The Bill Lynch Shows from Ethel (no last name specified) dated in Amherst November 18, 1942, and Halifax November 20-30, a blank labor service card with notes on the back, a card requesting name and address on the front of letters and parcels, a letter from Ethel to Bill Lynch dated July 25, 1942 from Amherst, and six photographs of: an unidentified woman in Sydney on July 16 1942, an unidentified woman at Murcer [sic] Lake in Sydney on July 13, 1942, an unidentified man in a parked car, a dog, two unidentified men on a ship plank over the war, three unidentified men in uniform and a dog by a Christmas tree, and three unidentified men, two in uniform and one in a suit, outside. Ethel's letter states she would try to enclose photographs of herself, so she may be the unidentified woman in the photos.

File contains letters and cards from students at St. Theresa's School (St. John's, Newfoundland), correspondence with illustrator Brenda Clark, and correspondence and copies of photographs from Budge Wilson's visit to Donagh School (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island).

File comprises four letters sent from Fred Thompson to John Bell between July and October, 1976. The letters provide a recounting of Thompson's time in Halifax as a labourer and labour activist and reveal an ongoing discussion between Bell and Thompson regarding labour issues and labour history.

Midtown Study

File contains photos and negatives from the Midtown Study in New York City. This study was amalgamated into the same program as the Stirling County Study late in its progress. It was brought to publication and closure by Alexander and Dorothea Leighton.

Models and Michelangelo exhibition

File consists of records related to the Models and Michelangelo exhibition, held at the Dalhousie Art Gallery from August 9 to 31, 1973. The exhibition was sponsored by Rothman's of Pall Mall Canada Ltd.

Records consist of correspondence between Ernest Smith (Director, Dalhousie Art Gallery) and staff of Halifax School for the Blind regarding the sale of the art catalogues and staff of Maritime Telegraph and Telephone Co., Ltd. regarding the opening ceremony, and staff of Rothman's of Pall Mall Canada Ltd. regarding installation and security arrangement for the exhibition. In addition records include a tour schedule, historical background to the collection of models in the exhibition, media release, exhibition invitation list, newspaper clippings, and a floor plan designed by Golden Miller at the Vancouver centennial museum in November 1972. Records also contain a copy of an Impetus magazine, published in April 1973, and photographic prints of the three terracotta models of the right hand, torso, lower back and left thigh.

Negatives of the Barrett house, buildings, and structures at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College between 1927-1953

File contains photographs of Mrs. Barrett's mother and father, former NSAC caretaker Mr. and Mrs. James Galloway. There are also photographs of other buildings and structures on the Nova Scotia Agricultural College campus including those no longer standing, as well as Collins horticultural building, the old science building, the dairy building, and Harlow Institute as well as people working in the fields with agricultural equipment and animal assisted machinery.
