Nova Scotia Adjustment Advisory Council

Subseries contains records created and collected by Gil Winham during his service as Chairman of the Nova Scotia Adjustment Advisory Council, which was established by Premier Buchanan to examine the province's capacity to adjust to the Canada-US Free Trade Agreement. Record types include correspondence; meeting agendas and minutes; research materials; background reports; media releases and newspaper clippings; manuscript drafts; and the final report.

Nova Scotia Health Department Health administrative data for hospital and physician services

Subseries comprises computer printouts of Maritime Medical Care (MMC) physicians claims data for 1967/68 - 1968/69 and Medical Services Insurance (MSI) physicians claims data for 1969/70 - 1973/74, which was used for Nova Scotia Health Council studies conducted by Murray Brown and Cameron Voelker and a later study of pre/post Medicare by Murray Brown and Vern Hicks, completed in 1985. There are also data sheets, notes and a commentary on a 1975/76 - 1976/77 - 1982/83 Dalhousie Intern Follow-up Study from May 1983, which was reported to a committee of the Faculty of Medicine.

Nova Scotia Persons With AIDS Coalition [NSPWAC]

Series contains administrative and operational records from the Nova Scotia Persons With AIDS Coalition [NSPWAC], an HIV/AIDS advocacy organization based in Halifax. NSPWAC formed in the mid-1980s and merged with AIDS Nova Scotia in 1995 to establish the AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia. Materials include meeting notices, agendas, and minutes; memos, correspondence, and press releases; workshop materials; internal and external reports; and issues of their newsletter News and Views.

Series contains paper posters and acetate negatives of posters for meetings, lectures, Pride events, parties, stage shows and dances, many of them held at Rumours, a Halifax bar owned and operated by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance [GALA].

Subseries contains records relating to the promotional, fundraising, sponsorship, and marketing activities of the Upstream Music Association. Records include membership advertisements and surveys, correspondence with media outlets, and information brochures about the organization.

Public Health Clinic

Subseries comprises records created or collected by the Office of the Architect and Facilities Management at Dalhousie University related to the design and construction of the Public Health Clinic, variously called the Public Health Centre and the Dalhousie Medical Clinic. The building was designed by Halifax architect Andrew Randall Cobb, built between 1922 and 1924. and renamed the Clinical Research Centre ca. 1967.
