The Canadian canvas 1975-76

Item is a catalogue for a travelling exhibition of 85 Canadian paintings representing 46 artists from across the country. The exhibition was initiated and sponsored by Time Canada Ltd., and was presented at Dalhousie Art Gallery from November 6 to December 4, 1975.

Catalogue contains an introduction by Stephen S. LaRue (President, Time Canada Ltd.), essays by Doris Shadbolt (Associate Director, Vancouver Art Gallery), Karen Wilkin (Curator, Edmonton Art Gallery), Alvin Balkind (Curator of Contemporary Art, Art Gallery of Ontario), Fernande Saint-Martin (Directrice, Musee d'art contemporain, Montreal), and Allen MacKay (Director, Anna Leonowens Gallery), biographies for each artist in the exhibition, images of select artworks, and an exhibition itinerary.

Item consists of a program created by Dalhousie Theatre Productions for the 2014-2015 season production of Sean O'Brien's version of Aristophanes' The Birds. The production was directed by Jure Gantar and features a cast and crew of Dalhousie University students. The program contains a list of the cast and crew, and DTDP patrons.

Fonds contains business papers, photographs and carnival documents from the Bill Lynch Shows. The business papers consist of financial records, including daily reports, receipts and invoices, correspondence, catalogues, ephemera and commercial scripts. Photographs include prints, cardboard imprints and a metal plate. The carnival documents include complimentary show passes, act and ride information, and blueprints of carnival rides.

The third is from the Annapolis County Exhibition Committee signed by Donald White regarding the Bill Lynch Shows returning from September 14-17, 1943, and is dated June 11, 1943. The fourth is from Teasdale and Foot, Limited and signed by Eric Teasdale regarding purchasing a car and multiple trucks for the Bill Lynch Shows, dated July 16, 1947.
