Biographical history

Frank MacKay was the lead singer of The Lincolns, an R&B band formed in Truro, Nova Scotia in 1961. Fellow band members included Layne Francis, Lee Taylor, Rod Norrie, and Brain Chrisholm whom MacKay had met at school at age fifteen. He was mentored by Murray Dorrington. MacKay started pursuing a solo career around 1970 while still performing with The Lincolns which became known as one of Nova Scotia's most popular dance bands of the 60's. Frank MacKay passed away in May of 2019 following surgery.

Bob Quinn is a musician and radio engineer. Quinn was a partner in the Halifax-based Solar Audio & Recording Limited, along with Russell Brannon and, later, Hayward Parrott.

Harold Tsistinas, born June 22, 1944 in Chatham, New Brunswick, was a recording engineer known to have worked with Solar Audio & Recording Limited. He moved to Halifax in the early 1970s and was seen as a great contributor to the East Coast music scene and was respected for his knowledge and expertise in the many projects on which we worked. Tsistinas passed away at his home in the subdivision of Cowie Hill, Nova Scotia on June 10, 2013. He was 68 years old.
