Custodial history

Item was donated by William Inglis Morse in 1938. Item was stolen from the University Archives by John Mark Tillman at an unknown date. It was seized by the RCMP in 2013 and remained in the RCMP's custody until it was returned to the University Archives in 2014.

Scope and content

Item is a journal kept by Captain John Harris (c. 1775-1825) during a voyage from Annapolis to Barbados on board the schooner 'Mary', commencing October 27, 1818. Harris also used the journal to record occurrences and work in Clements, N.S., between March 1819 and September 1823.
