Fonds contains materials collected by Halifax-based AIDS activist Larry Baxter. Materials in fonds document Baxter's involvement or interactions with a variety of Nova Scotian AIDS-related organizations, including Churchmembers Assembled to Respond to AIDS [CARAS], AIDS Nova Scotia [ANS], and the Nova Scotia Persons with AIDS Coalition. These materials include administrative and financial records, internal and external reports, memos and correspondence, proposals and planning materials, workshop materials, and reference materials. Fonds also contains Baxter's collection of news clippings covering a broad range of LGBT and AIDS-related issues, and his collection of pamphlets regarding AIDS-related issues and concerns.

AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia [ACNS]

Series contains materials relating to the formation and operations of the AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia [ACNS], a non-profit advocacy organization for persons living with HIV/AIDS based in Halifax. ACNS was formed in 1996 via the merger of two pre-existing organizations, the Nova Scotia Persons With AIDS Coalition and AIDS Nova Scotia, and still operates today. Materials in subseries include administrative records such as meeting notices, minutes, and agendas; memos and correspondence; planning materials for ACNS events; proposals, research materials, and reference materials; and notes.

File contains one copy of the 2005 Halifax Regional Health Project report Improving Access to Primary Health Care in the Rainbow Community, one copy of the 2009 discussion paper Links Between the LGBT Community and Injury by the Nova Scotia Department of Health, and one pamphlet for parents of LGBT youth produced by the Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Youth Project.

File contains pamphlets, fliers, guides, and other reference materials produced by the AIDS Coalition of Nova Scotia [ACNS] regarding AIDS and safe sex. File also contains press releases and update bulletins dated 2002-2005, as well as reports, articles, and pamphlets related to HIV/AIDS in Nova Scotia produced by other AIDS advocacy groups and health organizations.

File contains materials related to the Nova Scotia Persons With AIDS Coalition's Women and AIDS project. Materials include correspondence, one pamphlet, meeting minutes, and information about a women's retreat held in Halifax from September 16-18th, 1994.

File contains materials related to the Are You Ready for AIDS in the Workplace conference, held March 31 1989 by the Metro Area Committee on AIDS.
