Item is a travelling fruit salesman's catalog used for showing the varieties offered by a nursery. Contents : Sussex Nursery, Kings County, New Brunswick. Lithographer : J. W. Thompson and Co, Rochester New York. ca.1876-1891.
Nurserymen's coloured plates were produced by J. W. Thompson and Co. of Rochester, New York. J. W. Thompson and Co. operated by John Wrigley Thompson (b. 1826 England ; d. 1900 New York) between 1876 and 1891.

Melville Cumming fonds

Fonds contains photographs of Melville Cumming, as well as addresses, research articles/manuscripts, and letters related to agriculture in Nova Scotia written by Melville Cumming. Other material consists of records that were created while Dr. Cumming served as the first principal at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College from 1905-27. He was also an instructor animal husbandry, agronomy, bacteriology and public speaking, and also served as the Secretary of Agriculture for the province from 1907-25. Includes records from 1900-1970 comprised of photographs, certificates, articles, and speeches from the passing of Dr. Cumming.

Item is a photograph of H.W. Smith and a group of students sitting on a set of steps outside a building, they are dressed in suit and ties. Also seen are a young person and several dogs. H.W. Smith was the first lecturer appointed to the newly created Agriculture course at the Provincial Normal School in 1885. The School of Agriculture, later known as the College of Agriculture. Smith was instrumental in the merger of the School of Agriculture and the Provincial Farm in Bible Hill to create the Nova Scotia Agricultural College (1905-2012). Smith taught at the NSAC until approximately 1924.
