Fonds comprises records that illustrate Jill Grant's work as a planning educator and scholar, including her teaching, research, publishing and professional activities. Types of records include lecture notes, presentations and images, teaching evaluations, research notes and data, publishing contracts, editorial correspondence and reviews, manuscripts, drafts and presentation copies of talks and published papers. There is also a series containing Jill Grant's records from the Joint Review Panel established to review a proposal from Bilcon of Nova Scotia Corporation for a basalt quarry at Whites Point, Digby County.

PLAN 5302 : Planning methods — module on research design

File includes a 2006 course outline, readings, seminar notes, assignments, exams and student ratings of instruction for Jill Grant's PLAN 5302 module on research design, which "considers the nature and purpose of research, and its application in practice." Also included is a 2002 course outline for ENVI 2550 : Community research methods, "bring[ing] together a course in Qualitative Methods (Dalhousie) and a course in Community Research Methods (NSCAD)." The records, removed intact from one binder, are a compilation of Jill Grant's teaching materials from as early as 1982 (e.g., sample exams from Environmental Planning III).
