File contains seven speeches made by Elisabeth Mann Borgese. Includes a speeach entitled "AALCC Introductory Remarks," made to the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization, on seabed mining. The "Pittsburgh Lecture," a speech made by Borgese in honour of Rachel Carson, and discusses the international enterprises being built in the wake of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. It also discusses Mann Borgese's work at the University of Chicago on the Committee to Frame a World Constitution. "Sustainable Development and Ocean Governance," discussing the example of China as a case study. "The Protection of the Marine Environment in the Case of War" a 1984 address to the International Law Academy, discussing the limitations of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLoS) in dealing with war. An untitled speech from 1991, given on behalf of the International Ocean Institute (IOI), and discussing the contiuing need for the UNCLoS. File contains a copy of introductory remarks by Elisabeth Mann Borgese, given on behalf of the International Ocean Institute (IOI), at a conference on establishing Marine Parks in the Mediterranean, held in Salerno, Italy between August 18 and 22, 1973. The file includes a bound copy of the speech in both English and Italian, a typed English draft, and copies of English and Italian proofs with corrections/annotation. From the "Reunion internacional de consuita para la evaluacion del programa de investigactiones del area nuevo orden economico internacional" held in Mexico City.

File contains photocopies of illustrations (with captions) used by Elisabeth Mann Borgese in "The Drama of the Oceans." Includes 12 photographs from the United States Navy (mainly of naval vessels and equipment), three historical illustrations from the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, London, and two photos from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Also contains a typed page entitled "Explanations for Photographs."

File includes two copies, a draft and final version, of a paper by Elisabeth Mann Borgese, written for the Canadian Institute for International Peace and Security (CIIPS). The final version includes five annexes, mainly United Nations resolutions, and a copy of an article from "The Disarmament Bulletin." The draft version includes typewritten comments from an external reviewer of the work.
