Postcards and prints of musicians and churches

File contains two postcards of churches, one of Trinity Church and Wall Street in New York, and the other of Hensley Memorial Chapel and Convocation Hall, King's College, Windsor, Nova Scotia. The file also includes miscellaneous prints removed from magazines of organs, opera singer Annie Beaumont, pianist Franklin Taylor, and a drawing "Leur Fils" by P. Eschbach.

Notes on philosophy and thought

File contains loose annotated papers, and newspaper clippings from A.W. Shatford. Clippings include "The Morality of Agnostics" and "Epicurus Restated."

File contains the sheet music for a song by Paul Heinrich with words by Dr. Charles H. Baltzer (published in 1910). The front cover is autographed by Baltzer and a note on the last page indicates that it was sent from Baltzer of Middleton, Nova Scotia. The file also includes 7 poems by Baltzer (not set to music): "Charity," "Apostrophe to the Sun," "The Tree," "To Next Summer,""A Bachelor's Lament,""Frost Ere Roses," and "Greed." Some of the poems are from newspaper clippings and others indicate that they were published in the Halifax Chronicle and the Halifax Herald.

Beaver study correspondence

File is loosely organized into two sections: Nova Scotia beaver and Norway beaver. Both sections contain correspondence to and from government officials, biologists, academics, and industry consultants regarding research for and publication of Alexander Leighton's study on beaver mental characteristics. The Norway section also contains excerpts from Norwegian newspapers. There is also a set of handwritten notes titled "Outline for study of the Beaver: D. Cross & A.H. Leighton."

Newspaper clippings concerning concerts and other topics

File contains newspaper clippings that mention Ellen Ballon. Topics range from concert reviews, her favourite recipes, lifestyle, the death of her mother (Charlotte Ballon, nee Klein), and her contributions during the Second World War. One of the articles reports on her premiere performance in Rio de Janeiro of Heitor Villa-Lobos' first piano concerto.
