Fonds consists of records pertaining to the formation of the Information Science Student Association of Dalhousie University's School of Information Management, constitutions, meeting minutes, agendas, annual reports, correspondence, committee records, IWB conference records, event materials, event photographs, and financial records. The majority of the records were created between 2001-2019 when the organization was known as SIMSA.

Fonds contains materials produced by Lesbian and Gay Rights Nova Scotia [LGRNS] as part of their lobbying efforts to gain human rights protections for members of Nova Scotia's LGBTQ+ community, including correspondence, briefs, presentations, and notes. Fonds also contains correspondence, notes, and clippings regarding the establishment and operations of the Halifax chapter of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays [PFLAG].
Fonds comprises records documenting Marq de Villiers' work as a journalist and writer of non-fiction. Record types include manuscripts and published workâincluding collaborations with his wife, Sheila Hirtle; correspondence; publicity and reviews; and a small series of personal photographs and photographs taken in the course of his research.
