File contains a panoramic photographic print of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College from 1921. Printed on the back : "Mrs. Mathew [sic Matthew] Frizzell". Removed a piece of a receipt taped to the back of the photograph during processing; it may have been used to indicate cropping when an enlargement was made to hang behind the circulation desk of the MacRae Library. The receipt and description card are attached to the accession form in the case file. The blown up panoramic shot still hangs in the staff work area on Level 1 of the MacRae Library as of April 2020.
File contains correspondence to and from John M. Trueman, Professor of Agriculture. The letters are related to machinery used in farm buildings on the Nova Scotia Agricultural College campus. Most documents have "building" or "machinery" handwritten on them. Topics include barns, machinery, thrashers, silos, fences, new purchases for campus and repairs of equipment.
Item is a photograph of barley grown on the farm of Alex McKay, esq. Lyons Brook, Pictou, Co. 1923. May have belonged to W.A. McKay (dairying) who graduated from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in 1914. McKay. Depicted is Barley from a part of a field to which Malagash [Nova Scotia] potash land salt was applied and from a part of the same field with the same treatment except no Malagash potash land salt was applied.
This item is a published report on the meeting minutes of the special committee appointed by the House of Commons to inquire into the agricultural conditions throughout Canada. Among the committee, was Melville Cumming who was attendee and provided evidence as capacity of Secretary of Agriculture.
