The Atlantic Groundfish Managements Strategy and Human Resources Development Canada : TAGS/HRDC

The TAG/HRDC project resulted in several publications and consisted of interviews with leaders througohut Canada and individuals who had recieved payments from the TAGS program do deterimine the impact and effect of the program. The project was funded through the HRDC, and Joan Cummings acted as the director of the HRDC TAGS Impact Study, although recieved significant assistance and credited publications to Rick Williams.

The Atlantic social services work force: a profile : [research report I]

This subseries contains materials related to "The Atlantic Social Service Workforce: A Profile: Research Report I", this is the first of a series of reports from "The Atlantic Social Services Project: Research Report I" which were sponsored by the Maritime School of Social Work, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. The principal investigator on this, and all reports in this series, is Joan E. Cummings.

The report is based on results from employee questionnaires which were mailed out in January to March 1978 to Atlantic social services employees. The goal of the survey was to gauge the level of compensation, education and financial resources available to social workers throughout the region

The Atlantic social services workforce : a profile : [research report II]

This report is based on a survey which was used to obtain basic descriptive information from social service workers, was the second of four related ones being carried our by the Atlantic Social Services Project. Its specific focus was on the developing an overview of the social services work force within the Region, and of the work they were doing. This was to explore the relationship between educational preparation for and practice of social service work in the context of client needs, worker priorities and changing economic and social policy directions within the Region.

There appears to be several reports listed as "research report II", item 5-8 has a cover page, "The Atlantic Social Services Project, The Atlantic Social Services Work Force: A Profile: Research Report II".

The Backbenchers

Subseries consists of draft scripts for Backbenchers : One woman's journey through the snake pit of Canadian politics, a radio drama series by Wendy Lill presented by CBC Radio. Dave Carley was script Editor for the series and also wrote scripts for several episodes. The show was produced in CBC Halifax by Recording Engineer Pat Martin, Associate Producer Maggie Rahr, Producer Peggy Hemsworth, and Executive Producer Tom Anniko. Series also includes audio recordings of Season One.

The best/worst Christmas present ever

Subseries consists of handwritten and typescript drafts of Budge Wilson's children's book "The Best/Worst Christmas Present Ever." The book was previously titled "The Gift." Subseries also contains a sketch for an illustration by Terry Roscoe.

The Book of Ultima Thule

This subseries consists of research notes, correspondence, manuscripts and proof copy. This book was published by McClelland and Stewart in 1927.

The bunk beds

Subseries contains documents related to the writing and production of "The Bunk Beds," a play written by Jenny Munday.

The cat that barked

Subseries consists of handwritten and typescript drafts of Budge Wilson's children's book "The Cat that Barked." Subseries also contains illustrations for the book by Terry Roscoe.

The Channel Shore

Subseries consists of 18 folders relating to Charles Bruce's 1954 book The Channel Shore, including manuscripts, correspondence, research notes and book reviews.

The Clothesline Patch

Subseries contains manuscripts of the script, short story versions, character sketches, a synopsis, and an outline of The Clothesline Patch.

The Coady Co-op Show

Subseries contains records created or collected by Christopher Heide in the course of writing The Coady Co-Op Show, which was created, produced and performed by members of the Mulgrave Road Co-Operative Theatre Company.

The Comedy of Errors

This series contains production records for the 2013 production of The Comedy of Errors. It was directed by George Pothitas and the stage manager was Heather Lewis. The production ran from September 17 to October 13 with a total of 32 shows.

The courtship and other stories

Subseries consists of handwritten and typescript drafts of short stories included in Budge Wilson's anthology "Courtship and other Stories." Short stories included in the anthology are as follows: "The House on High Street," "The Courtship," "Elliot's Daughter," "Mrs. Garibaldi and Leonardo," "Mrs. MacIntosh," "The Canoe Trip," "The Losers," "The Dress," and "Janetta's Confinement."

The Deception of Livvy Higgs

Subseries contains sixteen files of drafts at various levels of completeness for the novel The Deception of Livvy Higgs. The majority of the drafts are labelled as chapter one, but may contain pieces of other chapters. Some draft have been numbered, either in the typescript or with handwritten annotations, but not all drafts appear to be in order and some have duplicated pages. Drafts contain various titles, title suggestions, and editorial comments.

The Deception of Livvy Higgs is a book by Donna Morrissey.

For two days, Livvy Higgs is besieged by a series of small heart attacks while the ghost of her younger self leads her back through a past devastated by lies and secrets.

The story opens in Halifax in 2009, travels back to the French Shore of Newfoundland during the mid-1930s and the heyday of the Maritime shipping industry, makes its way to wartorn Halifax during the battle of the Atlantic in the Second World War, then leaps ahead to the bedside of the elderly Livvy.

Caught between a troubled past, and her present worsening living conditions, Livvy is forced to pick apart the lies and secrets told by her greedy, prideful father, Durwin Higgs, who judges her a failure, and her formidable Grandmother Creed, who has mysteriously aligned herself with Livvy's father despite their mutual hatred.

Tending to Livvy during her illness is her young next-door neighbour, Gen, a single mother, social-work student, and part-time drug dealer. Overnight, a violent scene embroils the two in each other's lives in a manner that will entwine them forever.
