Photograph of Tramp Art doll cradle

Item is a photograph of a Tramp Art style doll cradle. The cradle was made by an artist in Pictou County, Nova Scotia around 1900. Each part was whittled and fitted together without the use of glue or nails. The cradle was made in the "crown of thorns" tradition because of the spiked ends.

Item is a photograph of Dr. C. Beecher Weld (second from right) from the General Committee on Cultural Activities, and Professor G.V.V. Nicholls (right) at the Dalhousie Art Gallery in 1977. The exhibit on at the time was the annual Staff, Student and Alumni exhibit. Photograph was published in University News Vol. 7 No. 12, 1977.
