Fonds contains records of the Dalhousie Faculty Association, including administrative correspondence from the DFA's formative years and records documenting the negotiation of their first contract in 1978. There is also an incomplete series of DFA newsletters and committee records.
The fonds consists of records relating to the administration and governance of the association; correspondence carried out on behalf of the Association; events such as the amalgamation of Dalhousie University and the Technical University of Nova Scotia, various university campaigns, Dalhousie Centenary celebrations; association-sponsored activities such as memorials and tributes, track and field meets, and reunions; graduate and alumni lists; photographs of alumni who served in World War I; and press stories about the Association.
Fonds was organized by the processing archivist into editorial, financial, production and administrative series, and further sub-series such as correspondence, reports and meeting minutes. The bulk of correspondence dates from the 1970s-1990s, although there are financial and committee records from the 1950s and limited other records from the journal's inception in 1921.
Fonds consists of records pertaining to Dalhousie Art Gallery publicity, exhibitions, collections, openings and events, and administration. Types of materials include press releases, brochures, tickets, a poster, photographs, course information, programs, calendars, catalogues, reports, financial records, notes, correspondence, newspaper clippings, minutes and agendas, and other materials.
Fonds consists of annual reports, records pertaining to interest groups formed within the club, membership information, minutes and agendas, administrative records, newsletters, photographs, and records for committees, events, and finances.
Fonds includes information pertaining to the formation of the Alumni Association of Dalhousie University's School of Library Service; minutes of meetings; reports; general correspondence; financial papers; events such as anniversary reunions and retirement receptions; awards such as Outstanding Alumni Award; newsletters; and photographs.
Dalhousie Library and Information Alumni Association (DLIAA)
The collection documents the beginning of the Youth New Democratic Club at Dalhousie, and David Jones' involvement in the organization. It also includes two articles of E. Chesley Allen, David's maternal grandfather, plus a photograph. E. Chesley Allen was the Superintendent of the School for the Blind, and a naturalist.
File contains five notebooks containing meeting minutes and financial records of the Dalhousie Co-vettes. A sixth is labeled "Refreshment Book" and doubled as an address book, containing members' contact information as well a spreadsheet indicating the names of those who provided sweets, sandwiches, squares, cookies etc. each month in 1957 and 1958.
