File contains two postcards of churches, one of Trinity Church and Wall Street in New York, and the other of Hensley Memorial Chapel and Convocation Hall, King's College, Windsor, Nova Scotia. The file also includes miscellaneous prints removed from magazines of organs, opera singer Annie Beaumont, pianist Franklin Taylor, and a drawing "Leur Fils" by P. Eschbach.
File contains materials sent to John Daniel Logan by Alfred Wooler, and American composer and music educator, concerning Logan's inquiry into Wooler's "Harmony and Composition Lessons by Mail." The file includes promotional materials for the course and a generic letter to prospective pupils to which Wooler has added comments for Logan.
File contains a letter from Henry L. Gillespie of Werba and Luescher Attractions at the New York Theatre Building. The letter was written on behalf of his wife, Christie MacDonald, to inform Logan of her upcoming performance in a new opera "Sweethearts" by Victor Herbert, Harry B. Smith, and Robert B. Smith. The letter also mentions a photograph of MacDonald that Werba and Luescher would send to Logan.
File contains five letters from the Canadian composer Clarence Lucas of the Musical Courier Company concerning his and John Daniel Logan's respective writing, music, and research on Canadian music. Two of the letters thank Logan for sending Lucas poems, and one letter mentions their mutual acquaintance W.O. Forsyth.

File contains a letter from Daniel G. Mason of Columbia University concerning a poem that John Daniel Logan submitted for publication in the "New Music Review." The file includes the copy of the poem that Logan submitted, which is on the work of the composer Lowell Mason (1792-1872), Daniel G. Mason's grandfather. The file also includes a manuscript copy of a poem, possibly by Jean Grey, dated June 15, 1913.
File contains the manuscript for Alberto Jonàs' "Novelette" for piano, which he wrote for Ellen Ballon. Ballon was one of his students in New York from c. 1916 until 1925.
File contains a pamphlet advertising a series of records containing fairy tales in French recorded by the Educational Department of the Columbia Graphophone Company by Marguerite Clement, professor of French language and literature at the Lyceum of Marseilles and the University of Paris.
File contains a piano technique book used and annotated by Ellen Ballon. It is the third book in a set of three, dedicated to Rafael Joseffy. It includes studies by composers from Ludwig van Beethoven until the book's publication.
File contains a piano technique book used by Ellen Ballon while she was studying with Alberto Jonas in New York. Each page includes printed technical excercises and blank staff lines with some additions handwritten in pencil, presumably by Jonas or Ballon. The book includes a repertoire list of pieces Ballon performed in 1918-1919.
File contains publicity photographs of Ellen Ballon. Most are portraits, but some feature her playing the piano, participating in World War II support activities, at ceremonies, at concerts, and at receptions. Most of the photographs are undated but seem to span the entirety of her adult life. The last photograph in the album is of Ballon receiving her honorary doctorate from McGill University in 1954.
File contains a letter from Leonard Young, Managing Director of an acting group called the "Originals", thanking John Daniel Logan for a book of poems, that Logan had given the group at one of their performances in Halifax.

File contains an introductory letter from John Daniel Logan's niece, Muriel Logan. The letter addresses her education in Greek, and her wish for further education at Dalhousie College.
File contains an autographed photograph of Muriel Dundas, personalized to Ellen Ballon. The photograph was taken at the Ira J. Hill Studio in New York.
File contains an autographed program for a concert by the Italian coloratura soprano Amelita Galli-Curci. In addition to her signature, there are several annotations in pencil for each piece on the program by J.D. Logan.
File contains a bound notebook used by Kenneth Leslie for the purposes of writing musical notations and scores, presumably from the 1930s. The notebook is largely blank, with only four pages used by Leslie. The first page contains an untitled melody fragment four bars long in the F-major key, written in pencil, with notations in both bass and treble. The second page contains a fragment of a song entitled "Sheep and Lambs", with music by Kenneth Leslie and words by Katharine Tynan (misspelled "Katherine"), with treble notations, in 3/4 metre and the F-major key. The third entry is a song entitled "So It Rises So It Soars", with words and music by Leslie, written in G-major key, the first two lines being "Builder of my growing soul / Found in deeply as you must". The fourth and final entry is an eight-bar fragment, in G-major, following a leaf that was torn out.
Subseries consists of Ronald St. John Macdonald's records regarding his involvement with the United Nations. Subseries contains reports, meeting minutes, correspondence, press releases, and other materials.
File contains a typed letter unsigned by Kenneth Leslie, written on March 19, 1931 to be sent to Mary Davis of Summit, New Jersey. File addresses outlining an evening of Gaelic dance and music, organized by Kenneth and his first wife, Elizabeth Moir, mentioning the potential of his three young daughters assisting in the dancing. The goal of the program is to display the "instrumental music, song, and dance, expressive of the classic culture of Gaeldom. File also contains a facsimile of Leslie's letter.
File contains a photograph of the first annual dinner of the Dalhousie Club of New York. The dinner was attended by President Arthur Stanley MacKenzie and Archibald MacMechan. Photograph was taken by Standard Flashlight Company Inc.

Series contains meeting agendas, meeting minutes, newsletters, reports, and other records.
File includes the second, third, fourth, fifth and tenth albums, dedicated to Julieta d'Almeida Strutt, Arnaldo Estrella, Magdalena Tagliaferro, Tomas Teran, and Ellen Ballon. The albums are copies of handwritten scores completed in New York and Rio between 1948 and 1949.
Item consists of a typescript copy of Carleton Stanley's address at the New York Alumni Banquet, March 26, 1932, discussing such topics as the rapid expansion of civilization, the problems inherent in defining economic history, changing education, and reversing the decline of certain faculties.
