Photographs and newspaper clipping of Longley House, the residence for college presidents on the campus of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College

Items are photographs and a newspaper clipping from the Truro Daily News of Longley House. This residence was on the Blanchard property when it was purchased by the College in 1886. It was used as the residence for college principals on the campus of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. The reverse has in handwriting: "the first house built for college president, at top of hill on College Road, right hand side going up".

File contains photographs of a chicken barbeque event on the Nova Scotia Agricultural College Campus. The first such event was held on July 2, 1951, followed by barbeques in 1952. 1953 and 1954 with 3000 to 5000 people in attendance. The barbeques were sponsored by the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture and Marketing and the Nova Scotia Farmers' Association to promote the newly expanding broiler chicken industry.

Rear view has a lean-to porch and small side entry. The photograph is dated Feb 14, 1977.
