Fonds comprises records created and collected by Don Allison that document his work as an actor in Neptune Theatre's 1967 production of The Wooden Ship, as well as his own poetry and prose writings. There is also a small number of letters from someone named Anna.
The fonds includes Linda Moore's papers and files relating to her work as director of Neptune Theatre in Halifax. The fonds includes designs and annotated construction plans and photos of the theatre; annotated scripts, photos, and production notes from Neptune shows; correspondence and interview texts; video and audio footage of productions and auditions. There is also a substantial volume of material relating to the world premier production of Dracula: a Chamber Musical.
Fonds contains photographs taken by Lionel Simmons during the 1970s, primarily of Neptune Theatre productions, rehearsals and people. The photographic format is overwhelmingly black-and-white negative film, but also includes contact sheets, prints and slides.
The collection contains a variety of theatre and music programs from across Canada, with a special emphasis on events held in and around Halifax, Nova Scotia. There are also programs from England, United States, France and Russia. Programs date from 1937 to 1986 with a gap between 1941 and 1950.
